It might help get a few more people through the door for a post Thanksgiving division 2 game but it will not be a financial windfall for the athletic department. Joey deserves it. Nothing shameful about it.Someone smarter than me (incredibly) explained in private message .... this is a shameful "money grab" by VCU .... Johnny come lately 2011 fans will jump to the occasion with wallets opened .... not so with Ed, What a shame. Rodrigues isn't in top 10 of all-time Rams' guards.
A POST THANGIVING GAME WITH ROLLINS COLLEGE FOR HIS BANNER RAISING!! HAHA...It might help get a few more people through the door for a post Thanksgiving division 2 game but it will not be a financial windfall for the athletic department. Joey deserves it. Nothing shameful about it.
Even then, it's still probably going to be a ghost town for the majority of the students that live in the dorms will have been kicked out for the mandatory fall break as well as locals who are out of town visiting family for Thanksgiving. While the current student body probably doesn't even know who he is, I feel that Athletics should have chosen a game where we can almost guarantee a packed arena for Joey...It might help get a few more people through the door for a post Thanksgiving division 2 game but it will not be a financial windfall for the athletic department. Yeah this is a dilemma I'm tryna figure out right now myself.Even then, it's still probably going to be a ghost town for the majority of the students that live in the dorms will have been kicked out for the mandatory fall break as well as locals who are out of town visiting family for Thanksgiving. He is coaching now so it was probably more about working with his schedule. I would imagine that FIU is either in the area around that time or has a little break in their schedule.Even then, it's still probably going to be a ghost town for the majority of the students that live in the dorms will have been kicked out for the mandatory fall break as well as locals who are out of town visiting family for Thanksgiving. yup.... FIU has a game on Nov 24th... and then their next game is December 4th.... so based on FIU's schedule, thats a perfect time for Joeys jersey retirement on Nov 29thHe is coaching now so it was probably more about working with his schedule.
