Raising Joey to the rafters!

First and foremost. When is the Jersey retirement happening? Pregame? Halftime? I will be in the house and don't want to miss.

Secondly, Surprised by the epic levels of salt in here. Cash grab? Retirement requirements? *Another jersey to honor the whole team... if we're being honest, Jaime Skeen is the guy who took the team to the next level but Joey Rodriguez embodied the heart and tenacity of VCU ball about as well as anyone I've seen these last 30 years. He earned it and I'm looking forward to celebrating the evening.
It's mainly a couple of well-established contrarians, and not generally representative.

Answered in another thread, but the jersey retirement ceremony will happen before the game. Best to be in your seats by 6:40.
Annual gripe: people attaching more importance on getting a beer than being in their seats for senior night ceremonies. I suspect this would be that times 10. I beg of those attending tonight, skip the beer and celebrate Joey and the program. There will always be time for a beer.

I imagine a game against a D2 opponent the day after Thanksgiving will attract less of the “social hour” fans who consistently walk the aisle at the worst times. Hopefully Joey’s jersey retirement brings more of the die-hards from that era out of the woodwork. I know quite a few of them got priced out of regularly attending games years ago.

Just get the beer earlier. Then you will have time for another beer later.

Since this won't be on TV, I hope that VCU has cameras and put together a decent video of the event.

I think Brad meant that the jersey ceremony won't be on TV.
Maybe it will? Idk.

On MASN at 6:30 there is a VCU Tip Off Show.... maybe they show it? Idk as im never at home to watch the home games to see what it entails.....

It been a while….february.
Cantpost a pic but I’m here now

You know, I think the game broadcast is in some type of stereo or surround sound encoding but when it reaches the TV only one stereo channels gets converted, thus making the game broadcast audio about half that of the commercial audio
