Justin Coleman not signing apparently mostly due to needing to get grades squared away

McKie signed early for Wake even have pictures of it on Scout.

C.J. Leslie one of the top players in the country was just seen at Ryan Harrow's NC State LOI signing and his high school coach is Harrow's brother in law. The interesting side to that is Luke Cothron who is another 6' 8" PF who committed to NC State is not signing there today
10:45 Luke Cothron isn't signing with N.C. State today. Regardless, Pack is having a big day today with elite backcourt additions. Gotta wonder if a guy can't be counted on to sign early will they even pursue late? Can see them directing entire focus at CJ Leslie from this point on. (DT)

Have to wonder if he is not signing cause he knows Leslie will eventually be coming to N.C. State.

Kemp and Tsfack have been mentioned elsewhere this morning.

Jon Graham PF from MD is not signing until Spring.

Jarrell Eddie signed his LOI with Tech (huge get for them)

Perry Jones actually signing with Baylor is a signing that can be the tipping point for making a program even if he is likely to be gone in a year

Releford and Hankerson signed for Grant

I sure hope CJ Leslie does not sign with NC State. The kid is bad news. Word on the street is his dad wanted $20,000 for CJ to sign. Supposedly, Sidney Lowe @ NC State said thanks but no thanks. This kid has almost as many skeletons in his closet and John Wall does, who is a freshman at Kentucky. I'll guarantee you Wall did not come cheap for Kentucky.

I dont know the back story on CJ but Wall also got away with other stuff other than just money if money was paid out. Good for Sid Lowe if that was what was laid out and he said no. Cothron is still saying he is solid for NC State even though he wont sign this period.

Right now Scout.com has NC State listed as the 5th best recruiting class in the nation behind UNC at 4th. Sidney and staff have done a good job. They don't need to mess it up by signing Leslie. If Leslie ends up at Kentucky, that will tell everyone something about Calipari that most of us already knows. He needs to be run out of college basketball. What he's doing at Kentucky is so obvious, plus look at how he left Memphis and UMass. Kentucky deserved what it got when they hired him.

Well that is assuming Cothron does actually sign the line, but yes Sid Lowe is doing a very good job recruiting. Leaving UMass for the NBA is one thing and Memphis while it got destroyed this year will rebound well with the great recruiting job Pastner has done for 2010.

Curtis Washington etched "SC" into his head in honor of his signing with Southern Cal.

How exactly does a recruit get "paid?" I can't imagine coaches being as stupid as Tim Floyd and literally handing over an envelope full of cash to a middle man...or are they that stupid? There has to be a more elaborate scheme to this that keeps the coaches nose clean, right?

I know back in the day it was much more obvious but it has to be different today.

Towson signs Cephas Oglesby and Jamal Flash
Oglesby is a JUCO, didnt find anything on Flash.

Tsfack might impact where Tarik Black is going since I thought he was surely going to Memphis.

New Heights Coach Adam Berkowitz says Ashton Pankey will decide next week between Maryland and Houston.

Maybe i am just following closer than prior years, but seems like a lot of the top players to not either have signed yet or publicly saying they wont until spring.

I have a feeling that may end up working in our favor.

yes and no. it is working against us at the moment because "risers" like a donte williams are encouraged by the fact that bigger schools like UT still have scholarships available even though he is a 3rd or 4th option while they wait on Harris, Pinkston and Black. In prior years or if some of those players had signed, the landscape would be clearer for some to make other decisions in the domino way recruiting works. Now it could be good that some wait too long and will have limited options come the spring on where to go and we might have something available to them.

I would imagine this is how we were able to sign Theuss.
