After all the smoke as settled, it looks as if we will be adequate with Juvonte, Haley, Veal, Houston, and Hinton upfront.
We have Brandenburg, Reco, Burgess, a few new recruits, and maybe Daniels to fill in at the guard wing positions (2&3).

However, we have only Theus as a true point. Any word on if we have a point guard on the radar?

I just noticed that Henrico High's Kris Walden signed with Towson. I saw him play a couple of years back when he was a sophomore, and if he has improved any could have been a serviceable back up. In fact he was second team all region last year as a junior.

I looked on the scouting boards and it shows we had some interest. Were we really interested? If so, why wasn't he signed. Did P. Henry fill the need for us before deciding not to come?

Any word on anything more than the two kids we have coming?

Walden is not a CAA player. Interest in him was VERY superficial. PG is a priority but Walden was never going to be the answer for us or any CAA team. Poor signing for them in my opinion. He's not good enough for this level.

Threatt at Highland Springs in really the interesting one that got away for me. I think that Henry and Weber must have kept us from offering him.

Anyone know the deal with the King-Davis kid at Meadowbrook? He put up 34 last night and is listed at 6'6" 205. I recall seeing him on another CAA school's list.

I don't know about the point. I think Brandenburg could learn to back up the point, not sure about his handle yet, though. It sounds like Weber could be our Nixon defensive stopper replacement. I'm really looking forward to this being the case. We need one of those at all times. Two would be even better.

I saw the kid a couple of years ago and he looked plenty good to me. We all have our opinions but remember both our last two NBA guys were 2 star players coming in. Walden was 2nd team all region as a Junior not to shabby.

Let's all hope the you are correct and his signing doesn't come back to haunt us.

You could be right, but he had very minimal college interest at all. Not a very good player.

The kids going to Delaware are a lot better and could be something that we regret, but not Walden.

Our point guard duties are going to be handled by Briante Weber next year as far as a backup for Darius. The kid is quick as heck. He's just as fast as Rob. On defense he will contribute right away.

The front court is what worries me most next season. No forward recruits have been signed for 2011, which leaves Reddic, Veal, Haley, Houston, and Hinton to fill in the hole left by Skeen.

You know I felt the same way at first. Most of those feelings were due to the fact that none of the big kids were playing very much. Now that Juvonte is getting meaningful minutes, and Haley and Hinton play some as well. I think we will be ok. Remember we will have Veal back as well. It may end up being big guy by committee. As to Veal as long as we can get him shooting around 60 percent from the free throw line and play with a bit more control we should be ok.

I do agree a good big strong banger from the JUCO ranks would be welcomed.

However, pg really scares me. As much as some bash Joey's play there really isn't anyone on the team who has proven they can run the offense any where close to how he does it. I am also hoping that Theus will step up once he gets the green light. He plays solid defense and can drive the ball to the hoop. I would like to see more confidence/pop in his jumper however.

I think the coaching staff thought they had both cover with Henry and Hall before both fell through during the signing period. I'm pretty sure we'll be able to find a decent pg during spring signing period. A CAA-ready big man is going to be tough.

theus, IMO, is developing nicely. theus' scoring will develop but i am not so sure we need a score first type point. Theus has shown a developing tear drop shot needed for penetrating, his passing is improved, defense steady, and decision making better. Once he learns the ropes on fouls he will be a very good point guard

Yeah, I'm not worried when we have Theus and Brandenberg. Should be a very nice back court. Daniels can provide good minutes and we'll have guys coming in who can play.
