Recruit Question

Question if any of you have heard of a recruit named Dwayne Alexander? Is he transferring in or does this name mean nothing to anyone? Spoke with him today but did not know if he was coming to VCU or not. He said he was so I am just trying to figure this out.

Whoever he is, he's not playing basketball at VCU other than maybe the intramural teams.

There was a player named Dwayne Alexander who played at East Stroudsburg South HS up in PA last year. This is Coach Rhoades' general home area, maybe he brought him in as a walk-on. He was a 5'11" guard who scored over 40 points in at least one game.

I would be surprised if this is happening when we are probably redshirting the only guard we brought in this year. But you never know.

^ This is certainly a plausible scenario. I hadn't heard we were taking on walk-on guards, but you can never have too many practice players. David Hinton provides valuable size for our bigs to go up against in practice, even if he is limited mostly to garbage minutes in games.
