Has the balcony renovation-addition started at the stu, anyone know?
 
I was under the impression that it was to be financed by donor contributions. Perhaps they have not arrived yet?

after the final four i wouldn't think that would be a problem...

I believe that was the original intention barring any issues. I don't think funding would be an issue at this point, though I doubt any work has been started yet considering that there were students in the Stu just a week ago. It's not a major renovation and could probably be done in a relatively short period of time.
 
Yo and Dan, We need more donors and more money. There is never enough.....We are really behind our bretheren in the CAA.

oh I know, but the project was based on on how the money comes in and I would assume the money is flowing a little faster these days. I could be wrong but I believe I heard its up like 20% already.

The corporate sponsorships will greatly help our team......can anyone say luxury suites

Now if we can get those dreaded gray benches replaced with actual black seats like the rest of the arena. That would look really nice.
 
Until the checks clear and the contracts are signed, I will believe it. I have increased my donation and payment has been made. I am also called a drama queen. I ain't no queen.
 
The luxury boxes and the club seating along with the other renovations will be complete prior to the start of the season.

We had a conversation in Houston with someone who i'd say is pretty "close to the project". I got the impression this is definitely going down, and was scheduled to start soon. Guess we'll just have to wait and see...
 
I think it would be cool to see a page on VCU athletics documenting and updating the progress of the upgrade. A way to keep fans updated every few weeks with the growth of the project, through easily updated pictures and text. Maybe even through "Around the Horns"

I know this an was already planned upgrade, but it is good timing as, coincidentally, a symbol of growth and progress.
 
Pretty sure I heard that some major corporate sponsorship had been secured.

Perhaps a webcamera so people can watch the construction live like Jmu is doing for the football stadium.
