Geez, if a tree falls in the Rhode Island woods does anybody hear it?

RHODE ISLAND RAMS PREVIEW

I didn't feel like starting a new thread, figure this one will work fine.

I notice our incoming foes the Rhode Island Rams are 4-0 on the young season. They have defeated the 4-4 Brown University Bears (wins over St. Francis NY, Maine, Bryant, and Philadelphia Sciences (...who?!)), the 0-6 Holy Cross Crusaders, the 4-1 Stony Brook Seawolves (wins over UMES, Mount St. Mary, Wagner, and NJIT) and the 1-5 Davidson Wildcats (lone win was over D-III Fredonia State). It looks like we will be Rhody's toughest test on the season as they enter the Stu Wednesday night. Rhody graduated their star sharpshooter Jimmy Baron. They have 4 players averaging 26+ minutes a game, 3 of those being the 3 that average double digit points, Cothran (6'4", G, Sr, 14pts, 29 min), James (6'8", F, Sr, 13pts, 27min), and Ulmer (6'6", F, Sr, 11pts, 26 min). The other player averaging over 26 minutes a game is 7 foot tall Jr center Will Martell, averaging 8.7 ppg. who could give Larry fits down low.

Also, who wants to be someone starts a "lets go rams" chant?

I can see some more cramping issues for our opponents in this one. Their 7 footer might want to go ahead and get an IV now for good measure.

I am personally not a fan of cramping issues...

I guess Larry got a cramp the other night because he played 30 mins instead of 20.

I think it's pretty apparent that URI fans have an inherent need to compensate...surprise! Honestly, I didn't know that it was possible, but it looks like they're more worthless than GSUesque fans.

Apparently we're not knowledgeable about basketball, are obnoxious, and over confident.

let's see...URI has had a more then respectable run the last 2 years (NIT both years) but were middling to terrible from 04-07...and were again pretty good in the early 2000's. They last made the NCAA 10 years ago when Lamar Odom and Coach Harrick and the ever so clean URI program danced it up. Their fan base on the "boards" (all 8 or 9 of them) seem to chafe under the assumption that we're not taking them seriously as an opponent.
I'm sure we are...but we all expect to win this game. Mostly because the rams have played Brown, Holy Cross, Stony Brook, and Davidson....all pretty terrible teams and the kind of schedule I expect from the Douchebag BCS schools at this point in the season.

I'd go so far as to say I'm at least vaguely knowledgable about basketball....the little orange ball thingy go's into the metal hula hoop, right?
as for obnoxious and over-confident.....well, as we've learned from our CAA bretheren....those are words that less succesful schools' fans hurl at schools who are consistently succesful for more then a 2 year stretch at a time every 8-10 years.

F Rhode Island....their pathetic potage stamp of a state, their ridiculous canals, and their lame-a$$ sports tradition...I have a motto for you, you can borrow it from ODU "A Tradition of Pride and Mediocrity". Go back to sucking off the teat of Massachussetts.

We are gonna b1tch slap you back to Providence where at least you have Spike's Hot Dogs to assuage your battered souls. (that place is really nice....over on Smith Street by Brown University and all their ugly "Ivy League" women).

Obnoxious.....check
Over Confident....check (WMU who??)
Knowledgeable....F you

Someone should tell those guys that our "crappy" athletic site has a free link to the game, along with stats. Also, I didn't mean to hurt their feelings about their logo...just having some fun with the little things since we are both sporting the Ram logo! They should be a decent test, but we should beat them at home (or a neutral court). They have no one comparable to Larry and I don't think they are any better than Nevada...they are deeper maybe, but they don't have a Luke Babbitt.
