Averaging 6.1 points in only 15.2 minutes.

Not bad for a freshman we all thought was going to redshirt.

That's about a point less than Bradford averaged as a freshman, but in half the minutes..and a point more than Joey his first year, and in about 10 less minutes.

But what I like most about this kid though is his intensity. He doesn't need to be hitting on offense to play like he's on fire on D.

Kid deserves a start.

I agree with you but who would you propose to sit? Not Nixon with his d, not Joey(even though sometimes i wish) with him being a senior, definitely not Skeen/Burgess and if you sit Reddic then you go too small...So?

Exactly. He should play more than Theus right now based on the past few weeks.

Maybe he should be playing more than any other back court player.

He definitely needs more minutes, Shaka has to figure out where and stop pulling him and Haley when they start to get it going.

What D is Nixon bringing to the table? His defense is very overrated. Lately, guys are blowing right past him. I say sit him and let Rob start.

I think giving Theus and Brandenberg a start over Joey and Ed would send them a wake up call. Joey played his heart out last night (see rebound leader) and we can't ask for much more, so maybe not Theus. But Rob over Ed for a game might send a message. I wouldn't sit him for long though, get him in before the first deadball. If Rob does well with the start, put him and Ed out there, with Joey (and let Rob and Joey both run point to confuse the D), Burgess and Skeen.
Honestly though, it seems like we are running out of steam here at the end of the season. I hope we get refueled before March.

Darius and Rob should be starting. It sends a message and I think both are better players than Ed and Joey. Joey is a HUGE defensive liability at times and Darius is great at D.

Joey had 4 times as many rebounds as Reddic last night. Two rebounds and two points aint going to cut it at the 5 spot. I say go to a 3 guard lineup with Burgess and Skeen down low. Then you have a spot for Brandenberg. Reddic is not bringing anything to thetable right now, in both offense and defense.

Joey 31 mins, Reddic 19 mins
Alot of stats can be misleading. Often the big is asked to bang and occupy the opponent, allowing the guards to crash and get rebounds.

Where were you Chill when I was writing this post headline?

That would work.

My take is the guard wanted it more than the big did. Joey even took away a rebound from DJ, who was standing next to him. You are a foot shorter, you are both standing under the basket and the ball is on a downward flight. The ball had to fall through a hole to get to Joey. My physics is bad. Somebody explain to me where the hole came from.

I have heard Mike Ellis say that part of our scheme is for our bigs to occupy thiers and our guards are supposed to get the boards, or something to that effect.

That would explain why every time we shot a 3 the guards back peddle and never follow their shot. And don't tell me you haven't seen this happen time and time again.
