I hate to say it but I think Rob is our only chance to get this team going again, if its possible. God I hope he is ready to play by sat. Maybe his play can inspire the team as he has done in the past-our seniors and Brad sucked bad at Drexel and coach said so-J-rod one assist?

I wish someone would go thru some of the last 5 games and count the points J-Rod has given up to his man-I think the number will be staggering-watch for it sat against JMU and you will see.

i agree but it won't happen. Joey has to get 35 min a game and we have to play 2 point guards together for 10 minutes and Nixon and Rozzel are seniors so Shaka plays them regardless of performance.

Rob is awesome. The guy brings so much energy and the team usually plays better when he's on the floor. I remember more than one game this year where he turned momentum around for us. His never stop hustling mentality always get a ovation from the crowd Hopefully he comes back with big game like he had at @W&M.

We're 0-1 in games Rob hasn't played in...

Not going to happen because Joey is a senior and supposed to be our "leader". Now don’t get me wrong i still think Joey can be that leader but what Joey will we get in the tournament? The i can’t make a shot or play D Joey…Or the great assist/drain big shots/ hustle Joey...We shall see.

We went on a winning streak when Rob's minutes increased due to Brandon's injury and have since been up and down since Rob's minutes have decreased with the return of Branodn. I am not saying it is Brandon's fault rather saying Rob needs more minutes. He is a difference maker.

Also Darius is not playing as much. Yes Darius struggles with scoring but he is bigger than J-Rod and can dribble penetrate with the best of them. Only way to beat a 2-3 zone is dribble penetration.

I agree with the first part but have to disagree with the second. Theus has showed me nothing. He panics, isnt the best shooter, and shows his youth. Yes he is young and with more playing time gets more confidence/experience but i feel he has played worse this year then last. I would put him way down the list next year unless he steps up in the off season.

Darius driving=instant turnover(usually a travel)

I agree Rob is very important to our team but those of you who constanly blame Joey for all our losses are way off base. This is a team sport and when we loose everyone has to accept responsibility and all our players have had their share of bad games. I have a lot of respect and admiration for Joey and appreciate his contribution to the Rams throughout his career at VCU. He has his limitations but his attitude, intensity and kowledge of the game can not be challanged. Joey if you read this know that most Ram fans love you brother and none of these negative posters about you have much credibility and basketball knowledge at least in my eyes even though they are entitiled to their opinions. Running the point is the most difficult position in basketball and Joey is a true point guard who gives his all and has shined more often then not.

If Joey had transferred before last season, we sure as heck would not have won 27 games last year. We wouldn't have won 22. We'd have struggled to get to 15.

But at least some of you wouldn't have had to complain about us being in the CBI. :?

And you base this on what? Speculation!

Who would have run the point in Joey's absence?

Darius...

The poor kid who has to look over his shoulder at all times because if he makes a mistake he gets benched!

Yeah Joey only averaged 14 points and 6 assists per game as the starting PG last year. I am sure a freshman Darius Theus could have done that LOL
