VCU (21-10, 12-6 CAA) has lost four of its past five games. Further, it has lost four consecutive conference games for the first time since the 1999-2000 season.

"Same stuff," VCU senior guard Joey Rodriguez said, when asked what the Rams need to correct. "Talking on defense and rebounding."

"We certainly have a team that is capable, if we do the right things, of competing for the championship," VCU coach Shaka Smart said. "But we've got to play better than we did today."

"We've got to move forward quick," Rodriguez said. "If we lose our next one, we're done. This weekend, we can sulk over it and be sad about it. Monday, we've got to come back and get ready to practice."

...the only bright side of that article? it's buried under the Hokies win over Duke so maybe no one reads it

Would "talking" about a flawed defensive plan make it any better? Does working harder at a failing model make it a successful one?

One thing is certain: the coaches deserve a pass; they have NOTHING to do with this.

Wash, rinse, repeat...
