This was Kirill Pishchalnikov's type of game -- big bodies banging around, trying to bull their way toward the basket, pushing and shoving to get rebounds.

The big Russian is at his best in physical affairs -- and, apparently, when the stakes get high.

Pishchalnikov has played sporadically for Virginia Commonwealth this season. Yesterday, in what amounted to a do-or-die game for the Rams, he played a lot and provided quite a spark in a 70-58 victory over archrival Old Dominion at the Siegel Center.
