Good read.
Year 2, which begins tonight against UNC Greensboro at the Siegel Center, finds a 33-year-old coach who feels more comfortable displaying -- at least occasionally -- his passion as he continues to put his stamp on a program that again has high expectations with four returning starters and touted newcomers.
"You'll see that more this year for a couple of reasons," he said, noting the best motivator still is planting a player on the bench. "I'm learning to bring that out of me more and more. But the most significant reason is I have better relationships with the players than I had last year.
"The returning players, I have a better relationship with because I've been with them now for 18 months. The new players, I have a better relationship with because we recruited them. Sometimes the relationship allows you more latitude in coaching a player, particularly a talented player."
Good read.
