VCU forward Larry Sanders said serving a one-game suspension for a flagrant act was "definitely tough" and "really set a spark in me." He also said he got some perspective after reading about Texas A&M's Derrick Roland.
Roland suffered a grisly injury - a broken right tibia and fibula - in a game against Washington in December. He had a rod placed in his leg during surgery and is not expected to play again.
