VCU guard Brandon Rozzell had a follow-up doctor’s appointment scheduled for Tuesday to see how his broken right hand is progressing.

Rozzell underwent surgery on Jan. 13 and has missed five games. He said he was hoping to get clearance from the doctor to start practicing – and planning to be ready to play this weekend.

“He’s still a couple of weeks away from that four-week time frame that the doctor gave us,” VCU coach Shaka Smart said. “I wouldn’t put it past him. We’re going to play him as soon as they tell us we can, but he broke his hand.”

On Rodriguez:

“Even more than the points, he did a good job of keeping us together. He talked the whole game. He was a general. I’ve been calling him that for a little while now. He’s really living up to that role, being a leader and being in charge of our team.

“I’ll take the 28 points, too.”
Shaka of course you would take 28 points on the road from one player

Watch out... Charles Barkley will come open a can of whoop @$$ on you!

HAHA! I love Chuck, and he loves VCU!

I agree though, he shouldn't rush back for one "big" regular season game or another. Let it heal completely and get a few games under his belt and be ready to win MVP of the CAA Tournament....
