Odom was really caught off guard by the Decommitment from Duke Miles. He was going to be their starting PG until Chance Mallory is ready. Apparently Miles felt he was already being recruited over and booked it.

would be curious to know how much additional revenue this generates for basketball for each of the next 5 years
clearly this is the UVA plan to augment NIL and perhaps be a source of revenue sharing dollars

sitll wonder what the VCU plan is that Eddie says will generate 4-5 million annually ?

It looks like Coach Odom is in a hostage situation. Ha! I posted the graphic on my FB page and one of the first people to comment was Ralph Sampson's sister who I went to high school with. She was not pleased.

If Rao's statement that the money will come from fundraising and not the university holds true, I assume that VCU will allocate nearly the entire RAF that is not sport specific to the NIL pot and then supplement it with ticket, NCAA shares and sponsorship revenues. That will leave enormous hole in the Athletic budget and I assume other non revenue sports and various AD support staff not related to MBB will see massive cuts. BOV is meeting next month about feedback from the public on raising tuition and fees. I can't find anything specific, but I am sure they are going to rise the D1 Athletic fee.
I think the mid major schools and programs are about to get a rude awakening as to how passionate fans, alums, students and university staff are at philanthropically funding a pro sports team.

Well, the athletic department clearly can't cut any sports as VCU only fields 15 sports and the minimum to be D1 is 14. Ed might want to reach out to the surrounding counties and City of Richmond to see if they have any used school buses for sale for VCU to use transporting teams to away games.
