At least for her sake she wasnt an ODU fan, I could just imagine what all the Rams wouldve done then.

We wouldn't trash a room at the Marriott, that's for sure.

Well not sober anyway.

If only somehow someone caught it on tape so we could see it

this kind of thing could happen to any team with 18-22 year old dudes, which is any team in the country. it's not unique to one player or team. these guys are passionate, and boneheaded at times.

if true, it's unfortunate this situation occured, but don't think it couldn't be reversed.

It absolutely could happen to us, but Mason fans talked a lot of crap last year for our guys picking up some T's during the season. I am pretty sure that they have had more guys suspended this year then we had get T's last year so I don't feel to bad laughing about this a little bit.

edited for truth.

i was talkin' in the real world, not the message board world.

i don't put much stake in what people trash talk about on a message board. in REALITY, something like this could happen to any team. unfortunate, but the truth.

i've never quite understood how so many people get so caught up in who gets suspended more, and who gets more T's, and use it to trash talk other teams. the whole "well THEY talked trash about it, so WE have to give it right back" makes no sense to me.

fact of the matter is that it's unfortunate to see that from any caa player, whether it's a ram, patriot, or monarch.....

I agree with you. It can and it does. Doesn't make Pearson a bad player or a bad person. I was just saying that the same was true for Eric or Larry when they would get called for something and people would start saying mess about them.

My question is WTF are some of yall doing heckling a kid's family after an emotional game?

Act like you've been there before people.

We did it BEFORE the game. It was all in fun and his dad enjoyed it.

i think this is Pearson's second transgression at GMU...somehing about stealing a pillow?
Also, not mentioned is the GMU team has had at least 4 suspensions this year. Mike Morrison for 2 games if I am not mistaken. Seems other teams are prone to call VCU players thugs, but in my opinion Coach L better look at this hard. I expect, seriously, for GMU to get Pearson some "help" ... this isnt an isolated event...embarassing...

Well I guess getting pounded by VCU this year in the quarterfinals and last year in the championship of the CAA Tournament really got to this young man!!

When you talk about a sore loser, this kid takes the cake!!

Let's go get ODU Ram Nation!!

Go RAMS Go!!

well... the CAAzone is down and I want to share my thoughts on this somewhere... a few things... first, I can kind of see where Pearson is coming from as I am a pretty sore loser, not to the extent of tearing up a hotel room... but I do hate to lose.. kind of live by the creed:

"Show me a gracious loser and I'll show you a failure" - Knute Rockne

now granted that is a bit extreme.. but I think anytime someone starts accepting losing its hard to get out of that mind set.... Ryan had just played the game of his life and was probably a little frustrated at some of his teammates dissapearing on him...

that being said, I can't excuse his actions... plenty of players lose games ALL the time, and they don't go trashing hotel rooms... I mentioned to a friend of mine yesterday after the game that I am concerned with the mentality and level of maturity of some of our players... at this point we maybe getting higher caliber players, as are a lot of teams in the CAA, BUT right now all I am seeing is a collection of higher caliber players... failing to see them become a team and while everyone says we will be a force for years to come (Mason fans) stuff like this makes me nervous that they will never come together as a team..

a) people in glass houses should not throw stones... Terrance and the ice cream come to mind. These guys are young men verging on still being kids, and lord knows they, like any of us at that age, are somewhat prone to doing stupid ish. That's not an excuse for anything... it doesn't make doing stupid ish OK ... but it does make any of us non-impacted parties being clutch-the-pearls shocked about it disingenuous. I say this stuff is the jurisdiction of the coaches, the school admins, the parents, and if need be, the authorities and/or injured parties... we're all just onlookers.

b) So this happening after a game against VCU is enough to to merit being on the main VCU bball forum? :geek:
