Before the start of the season, Graham committed to VCU and in his senior season he has blossomed into a star. The future Ram has scored over 1,000 points during his time at Ryken and is averaging over 22 points and 12 rebounds per game as a guard this season.

Now at 6-foot-5, he is among the tallest and most versatile guards in the WCAC and has the ability to hurt teams both outside and inside.

“Right now I’m at the three (small forward), and some shooting guard and small forward. (At VCU) I’m going to play mostly the two (shooting guard) and some of the three,” Graham said. “I bring aggressiveness on the boards and try to rebound as much as possible.”

We really got a gem. Great things will happen at VCU once shaka truly brings his recruits together to make the team he envisions. heck good things are happening now.

This. Right here.

Look at teams with coaching changes in the past couple of years and you'll see that what we've been able to do this year (and heck, even last year - 27 wins is nothing to scoff at) has been remarkable. We truly have a gem of a coach.

Let's just hope he doesn't bolt after this season when Georgia Tech comes calling. :?

If we lose to GMU, would I care if "Not So" left for NC State or Ga. Tech? Probably not.

darn dude! Shaka comes here after we lose an NBA caliber point guard and gets us to 27 win his first season along with a post-season title. Then last year we lose THREE front court guys including one to the NBA early. This year he has us at 20 wins with at least 7 more games to go in the season and you are bitching.

We are young, relatively inexperienced, and a bit weak in the front court due to our losses last year with only Skeen as our main front court threat. Teams that have beaten us have capitalized on that. Nonetheless, we have 20 wins and are very good team with an RPI in the 50's. No, we aren't stellar but with the players we have lost we are still ahead of where most thought we would be. It is obvious that you are very young and have never been through some of the VCU lean years.

Muzzle it until next year when we will be very young as far as returning starters. Our starting line up will likely be:
Theus
Rob
Burgess
Veal
Reddic

We will make sure you have the suicide hotline number at the beginning of the season. I expect next year to be bumpier than this year until that team finds it's chemistry. We have some really good recruits coming in as well as those playing or redshirting.

Shaka is young and learning but a very good coach. Would you rather chance it with a possible Keener, Kennedy, Ross, or Dillard?

If you have an average team, the coach matters. If you have great players, the coach just needs to roll the ball out there properly and be a good cheerleader. I'll take the good recruiter option if you can get it.

“It really shows the kind of guy Tre’ is,” Ryken head coach Dave Tallman said. “He brings it every day. He has never missed a practice or a workout.”

gotta love that

The article also mentioned that his parents insisted that he play JV before going to the Varsity team at Ryken even though his coach said he could play on the varsity. It sounds like he has a solid family situation. Sounds like he has the potential to be a great one! That conference he plays in is one of the top high school conferences in the country.

Now it isn't his mother that made the decision for him to go to VCU?
