Don't know if it is true fake or whatever but somebody posted on the Ramnation front page in the comment section of the McCarter signing article that he was leaving

If this is true, it would certainly clear up a lot of the confusion about our scholarship situation -- but no way we'll see Terrance back on the court this season, even after his thumb has healed. At this point, he'll still have 3 years of eligibility left if he sits out and then transfers.

Wouldn't he have two years of eligibility? I thought you had to sit out and lose a year of eligibility with a transfer? IE Jay Gavin?

Nah Gavin has 3 years..the year you sit out does not count towards your eligibility.

doesnt gavin have 3 as he is listed as a sophomore in terms of eligibility?

this would only further the whole we have in the front court. I believe and i will speak only for myself the assumption was due to the glut at 1-3 especially in the backcourt that one of those players would be the one who left or possibly in Joey's case stayed buy gave up the scholarship.

Well Terrance had his cast removed on Tuesday and the Doctor gave him the bad news that he's likely out for the whole season and not the 2-3 months previously mentioned. I haven't heard anything about him leaving the program though.

well if he was thinking about leaving the program, which i am not hoping for if he is going to end up sitting the whole year it is the perfect time to do it as he isnt missing any time he wouldnt already be missing sitting or likely red-shirting. strange they would take his cast off so soon and worsen the prognosis, unless it didnt set correctly and they recasted. obviously i didnt hear anything to know anything about that.

well if he was thinking about leaving the program, which i am not hoping for if he is going to end up sitting the whole year it is the perfect time to do it as he isnt missing any time he wouldnt already be missing sitting or likely red-shirting.

If he went to another D1 school then he would have to miss at least one semester next season as well since you have to be at your transfer school for 2 semesters before playing. If he isn't able to play this year that is bad news, but hopefully he isn't leaving. This thing seems more like a prank to me. Other than Larry possibly entering the draft I don't think anyone currently on the team would leave before next season.

a college player gets 4 years of eligibility and has to use them within 5 years... therefore sitting out one year just burns the extra year, but sit out another beyond that, and you lose it
(although there may be a way to ask for/get a hardship waiver, not sure)

How does eligibility go as far as transfers? Does it go by just being on the roster? Or does it go by actually playing in a game? Because if Saintil does not play in a game this year and he transfers wouldnt he get the full 3 years?
