Will Pierria' sign today? Has he signed already? Today would be a great day to piggy-back the A$$ kicking we put on Wake last night.

If he doesn't want to sign with our team today, especially after all the excitement that our run in the NIT tip off has generated, then it is best we move on. Thrilled with the additions of Graham/Weber and can't wait to give them credit/celebration they deserve (although I'd like to hear something offical on this too). Too bad about the loss of Carl but the scholly availability allows us some flexibility going forward. Would love to have Henry but I really want kids who want to be here...like Brandenberg for example. I'm quite sure the VCU recruitment train won't be waiting at the station come spring time for Henry, especially if we have a nice year. So as usual...get on or get out of the way VCU is on the move.

I know we're getting down to the wire, but I don't think it does any good to speculate about what Pierra is feeling. It's clear that he comes from a unique family situation, is a great football player and a stand up kid. From the interview he did with DB, he would obviously be a great addition to VCU and seemed to be intent on coming here. Let's be patient, there could be a lot of things that have prevented him from signing and we all clearly want him at VCU. Hoping for good news!

Whoa dude. Don't lose any sleep over it. This is a big decision for the kid. It certainly doesn't help for him to read what you just wrote. Think about that.

I'm sure he'll make the best decision for him, and the coaching staff will make dreams come true for someone out there, whether it's Henry or someone else.

Didn't really say anything bad IMO. Said I'd love to have him if he wants to come. Nothing I say on the ramnation boards is going to influence his decision to attend or not attend VCU. Call me old school but I'm in the camp that you don't commit unless you are comitted. It is a big decision and thus if you are comitted to a program, you sign your letter and you have it there during the signing period. We are still on the clock and I hope I am wrong but if he doesn't sign...I don't think the coaching staff waits on him.

So, if nothing that we say here on VCURN is going to effect whether or not he signs, and if we don't have any factual information to add that might shed some light on the situation, then why bother saying anything about it at all? Either he will sign, or he won't.

I know we all have the right to express our opinions... it's certainly not a question of whether it should be allowed, or anything like that... but what good does it do? Is it just the therapeutic venting of feelings? Does it add value to the community in some way I'm not seeing? What's the upside to public fretting?

I agree with this statement whole-heartedly....Henry sounds like a real nice kid who's been dealt a tough hand and come thru it well.....I wish him well

but I wish VCU basketball a helluva lot more then just "well".....so get on or get out of the way!!!!!

Gotta admit...this thing smells fishy to me. Very surprised that Heny of all people has yet to sign his LOI.

Its after 4PM, and no word either way. I bet there is some real drama going on right now!

I look at it this way, if he's a young man of his word, by all means we want him as a part of our VCU family and will welcome him with open arms, if he's not, the TEAM will be better off moving on without him and adding only more kids with good character.

really? because i could wake up tomorrow morning with my head sewn to the carpet and still be less surprised than i would be if this kid didn't sign.

i figured from the start that this kid was someone who might possibly keep his options open.

Will Pierria' sign today? Has he signed already?

How does the process work? Does he have until mid-night, and is it a faxed, time stamped type confirmation?

I really like this young man's character and athleticism. I hope he signs.

I'm not sure how the AD handles the signing period. It is likely standard operating procedure to wait until the end of the signing period before issuing a press release. I certainly would hope to hear something official tommorrow.
