14-20 this post season and averaging 16 points and 7 boards per in 24.5 minutes.

I think Skeen is on his way to a monster 2010-2011 season. The guy plays harder than perhaps anyone on the team, with the exception of Joey (and maybe Ed). Been very impressed with him down the stretch.

Absolutely, it seems like he decided that this tourney was the time to assert himself offensively. He is really getting his legs under him as well and able to keep it up for a full 40 min.

I've been reflecting since the CAA Tournament and I have come to the conclusion that this team next year is going to be SCARY good. If Larry returns that's a huge plus, but even if he doesn't we return 4 of 5 starters. Just watching us during the tournament, there's something about this team. The feel (the actual style not just the atmosphere) of the semi-final game with ODU felt and looked like an NCAA Tournament game. Ed Nixon can be great, I love how he is not afraid to penetrate. Brandon, with confidence, can be unstoppable. I hope he learns to take it to the hoop too! Bradford can be outstanding, I would love for him to take more shots and slash more. Jamie can play the post for us if Larry leaves, and anything we lose will be on the defensive end. Joey has been great and will only be better. Darius has gained a lot of experience this year and he, along with Troy will play more of a role next year. Terrance, I love Terrance, I think he will surprise a lot of people next year! We are going to be darn GOOD!

Terrance scares me. He is a fouling magnet. If he can learn more control he will be great, if not we better have some backup bigs.....

He has been good, but to be fair the bigs last night were not of the quality of your Gerald Lees, Birdsongs, or Manny Adakos (sp). I don't think he's playing that much better than the preseason. He's always played fundamentally sound I feel, seems like he's taking the same shots they're just going in.

Oh yes if Larry leaves we will definately lose on the defensive end. I love Skeen's contributions but he's not the defensive presence LS is. You'd better believe that without LS in the lineup a good number of those pullbacks that nobody actually keeps stats on are coming into the paint.

In Other Jamie Skeen News

Jamie has been diagnosed with a severe case of B-Ballus Encephalitis. It is not expected to affect his performance. Sanders appears genuinely worried.

T has flashes where he shows his potential. Certainly had a couple this year.

The RTD did an article on Jamie's progress in the post-season as well. Interesting thoughts from Brandon and Shaka on his game:

http://www2.timesdispatch.com/rtd/s...etball/article/VCUB24_20100323-222204/332488/

"I just tried to come out and be conservative at the beginning of the season and just tried to jell with the rest of the team," Skeen said. "But now it's coming toward the end of the season, and I just feel like it's time to step up because we're about to lose [some] players."

Skeen's emergence does not surprise his teammates or his coaches.

"Jamie can dominate," Rams guard Brandon Rozzell said. "I've seen him dominate in practice against Larry Sanders, one of the best defenders I've pretty much ever seen. He's so smart down in the post. He can finish with contact, he can step [outside]. His game is so versatile. . . . He could be player of the year [in the Colonial Athletic Association] if he puts his mind to it."

"He's a very gifted offensive player," VCU coach Shaka Smart said. "He can score in a lot of different ways, can rebound at a high level. It's nice to see him having some success. We knew it was just a matter of time before he was able to develop a comfort level to do that.

"You've got to remember he sat out for almost two years. It takes time to ingrain yourself back into a team and get your rhythm and get your timing. Overall, he's had a very good year, but particularly the last two or three weeks, he's started to really show what he can do."

Let's hope Skeen can do big things for us next year in Larry's absence.
