So honestly, how did you feel?

Some of you may be surprised to know that Eric Maynor is the second player from his immediate family to hear his name called in the NBA draft.

Father George Maynor was selected in the fourth round of the '79 draft, by Chicago, following a solid career at East Carolina. G. Maynor actually played against VCU while a Pirate.

Another tie to the NBA and George/Eric.... Sloan cut George from the Bulls back in 1979.

I was rooting for Philly...but maybe not for the reason you think. I'm 34, and came up watching Schmidt/Rose/Carlton Phillies...Bobby Clarke/Bernie Parent Flyers...Ron Jaworski/Randall Cunningham/Mike Quick Eagles...Dr. J/Mo Cheeks/Sir Charles 76'ers etc.
Well, after Chuck got traded to Phoenix....I went with the Suns and totally dug that team (KJ/Vanilla Thunder/That Dude from ODU). Anyway...after Charles went to Houston and Philly had AI literally KILLING the team concept...I quit the NBA 'cause I had a new passion in VCU basketball. I've been mostly indifferent to the Association for quite some time...Maynor to the Jazz changes everything for me. I'm not sayin' I'll be a huge Jazz fan (still hate Karl Malone).but I'm well aware of Sloan, Deron Williams, Kirilenko etc.

I guess my point is Maynor is giving me a reason to follow the NBA again.
