We havent lost 2 CAA games in a row in 4 years and now we're dropping back to back's against two CAA clubs with losing records?

Brad scored 30 tonight and was red hot and Brandon's our best shooter, but Joey is the one who took the last shot?

We've blown leads of 8 or more points in each of our four losses?

We have more depth this year than we've had in years, but 7 guys got the overwhelming majority of minutes in tonight's game...and the excuse will be that we played short-handed because just one of them was ill?

Kirill was good enough to start for Anthony Grant but all of a sudden he's not good enough to play 10 minutes?

We're supposed to be "wreaking havoc" but it doesnt appear that we're pressing any more frequently than we did under the last regime?

Under Grant our teams were among the top in the nation at defending the 3 pointer...this year, we've let William and Mary and Drexel make it rain threes on us like dropping 10 of them in a game is nothing?

Unreal.
Someone tell me that this is just a coincidence that this has all occurred the same season we change coaches...

No coincidence in my book. But I am going to remain quite about Shaka from here on out. I've said my piece about him. Also, we are running a different press now and we are pressing A LOT more (every possession). Grant slowed the pressing down a lot in his 2nd and 3rd years. We also didn't run as much on offense as we are now.

One thing about it. The only guy in Richmond sleeping less soundly than Shaka is Norwood. Shaka was his pick. Hopefully they can turn it around.

Everyone was saying these same things AG's first year...heck, many were saying the same things last year early on when we had 5 loses at this time...

I do not have much problem with the minutes played by each tonight considering Ed was not able to go
I think the issues are equally both players effort and execution and coaching decisions at this point...
We have always struggled early...

Ed is one guy. We've got more eligible bodies on this team than we've had the last couple of years, and if there's one thing we've got... its tons of guards.

Have you watched Gavin, and the other ones play the last couple games? They make more mistakes than minutes they play at this point...

and who would they have taken minutes from? Joey who has played better than anyone the last 3 or 4 games?

obviously not brandon since you think he should play 40

Gavin came in and almost immediately turned the ball over, daniels came in and almost immediately committed a dumb foul....neither scored...

I'm saying, if the excuse is going to be "we played short handed", thats extremely weak sauce. We weren't short handed. Minutes were based on coach's decision, simple as that.

I did not see anyone saying we were short handed...I do not think we will ever have that issue this year unless half the team gets the flue like ODU seems to do each year...

We just still have not come to play at the level required...

We lost on Monday night, then maybe had a light practice yesterday, got on a bus, went to Philly, probably went to bed, walk through today then game tonight. Not a lot of time for dramatic adjustments.

It's also funny (not funny) how last yr KP and Larry worked so well together, and TJ off the bench has been our weapon for years....but suddenly all of that's out the window because this "new plan" is working out so well.

This year's KP isn't the same as last year's KP so far. If he was the best option to have in the game to give us the best chance to win what possible reason would there be for him not being in the game?

Its probably the same KP but I'm guessing Smart figured he wasnt fast enough for the "havoc"

How come he was fast enough for Grant's "94 feet both ways" though? The guy hits his free throws, will bang and get rebounds..and we're not blocking out or rebounding right now as we should. I'm not saying we'd be undefeated if KP were starting as he did last year, but what I am saying is...Shaka's changed a lot of things (for the worse) that worked well for Grant, and this is one of them.
