Sounds like Towson is keeping Kennedy

Good/Bad move?

hard to say whether delaying the rebuild one year will really matter or not... it's still Towson

Towson is never going to be any good in basketball no matter who coaches them. No reason to fire him before his contract is over.

An extremely bad move....for our conference.

It basically says, "Our conference is willing to accept losing and mediocrity. Got a crap program and losing coach? Welcome, come join us in the CAA."

Moss, Ross, and Kennedy all should be gone this year.

I'm sure UNCW, UD, and TU would gladly take your donations to help make it happen.

Sounds like you feel perfectly fine (in this thread) with keeping losers around. But in another thread you said:

Maybe "just fine' isn't something we should settle for. It really, really isn't just about us taking care of business... simplistic answers to complex issues may sound nice, but the fact is there are multiple variables at work, of which taking care of our own business is just one (albeit the most important one). Any incremental improvement we can make systemically, the better our chances will be, and the more margin for error there will be if we don't take care of 100% of our business

[An] incremental improvement we [as a conference] can make systemically is to expect schools in our conference to make the necessary changes - in a timely manner - in an attempt to improve their programs.

I'm just saying what are we supposed to do about it?... we can do something about our own situation, and we can lobby to change policies, but it's not like VCU or its fans can make Towson fire their coach, and it's not even like Yeager can make Towson fire their coach. I wish all the programs in the CAA had both the commitment and the means to pursue the best possible outcomes for themselves, but the fact is they don't, and unless those that do underwrite those that don't, it's irrational to expect it.

There is only so much that we can do, but I am pretty sure that VCU did all it could to get Kennedy fired.
