Towson just won at Trask, we need to be focused and not look ahead to next Saturday.
Go Rams, beat the Seahawks!

I have this fear that once we get down there, the lights will black out, Sirius, or some other pump up song will start playing, and the spotlight will shine on the lockerroom to reveal Jerry Wainwright walking out, with Brett Blizzard and Craig Callahan in tow (who have just been found to have a half year of eligibility left), sock-puppet lady rips of her mask Mission Impossible-Style and reveals herself to be Blizzard's mom. The UNCW fans, who haven't been seen since 2006, storm the arena, having freshly tarred, feathered, and dropped in the ocean their Chancellor and AD (hence the return of Droopy Dog). UNCW then goes on to spank us by 40.

Barring all of that happening, I think VCU shakes off the rust and cold from Saturday, winning easily 87-46, and handing UNCW their worst defeat in Trask history, as that once-great program continues it's death spiral.

UNCW is a cornered, wounded animal at the moment. They have nothing to lose at the moment. They will either come out with fire in their eyes and try to make it competitive, or they will rollover in the second half. I know the rams are focused and should win. However, after watching the second half of the GSU game, we seem to revert back to some old ways of playing poorly in the second half. We had a stretch there where we were either one and done or could not even get a shot off. Something like 15 turnovers in the second half. If the Seahawks get hot on the perimeter in the second half and we don't defend, shades of W&M will haunt us. Don't believe it will happen. We will dominate the game, the boards and the D. Play strong D, we win. The next game is UNCW, not ODU on Saturday. Make it happen and dominate. GO RAMS!

We need to go into this game with the same focus we would have against a team like mason or odu. I fear that sometimes this year the team has overlooked some opponents and even taken a win for granted when up by double digits only to let it evaporate and make the game closer than it really should be. Lets hope they look like they did when UNCW was playing at the STU and not like we did against GSU as they definitely put a scare in me last game. If we come out full of piss and vinegar and treat it like a game that either team could win than we should put them away easily, but if we take this game for granted it will be closer than it ever should of been.

This year? We do this every year...

What's up guys,

Well, last time we met, Pavarotti requested that we fire Benny Moss. He got his wish.

Interim coach Brooks Lee coached his first game against Towson on Saturday, and while we lost to the worst team in the conference (making us it, I suppose), I thought HE did a pretty good job. UNCW showed a look on offense that had not existed under Moss. It was a sort of Princeton-style offense where Montez Downey or Matt Wilson would move along the outside of the paint looking for an entry pass, where he could kick it out or look for a cutter going backdoor.

It worked for a time until Towson switched to a zone and took over the game in the 2nd half. We simply jacked up threes and missed a god-awful amount of them.

I don't expect to beat you guys; if we couldn't show the fire against a bad Towson team on Homecoming, after our coach just got fired, we won't show the fire the rest of the way. With everyone thinking more about the coaching search than the remaining games on the schedule, there are a LOT of distractions as the current season trudges along. Like last time, I just don't see how we'll have an answer for your big physical guards, and we'll have to hope for a hot-shooting night to be competitive.
