Interesting that Oklahoma remains in the Top 25 after losing to VCU on Saturday night. We here so often that these BCS schools won't schedule good mid-major schools like VCU (or at least not a home and home series) as they have nothing to gain and everything to lose. Well, what did Oklahoma lose...they dropped 8 spots in the AP Top 25 poll. How terrible! I think this has a lot more to do with pride than anything else. The fact that Oklahoma remains in the Top 25 tells me that they consider VCU to be a quality opponent. Therefore, other BCS schools should not fear a home and home series with us. On the other hand, if VCU had been ranked in the Top 25 and we lost to Oklahoma (or anyone else for that matter) they would have tossed us out of the poll in a heartbeat!

It's a different situation with VCU to OU. Regardless, we want them to remain ranked.

I know we all hate ODU and for good reason. But how sweet would it be for ODU to get ranked and then come to The Stu for a @$$ kickin'.

I would prefer it if the 'narchs were on the cusp of being ranked... around 28th or 27th maybe... and we beat 'em like stepchildren. As they roll eastward, downhill, they would know that they were that close, but were denied, and they would know it was us who denied them.

Oh, I'm well aware...Oklahoma's in the "club" and we're not! You are correct...the better Oklahoma does this season the better our win will look come Selection Sunday.

True, but with progress on a yearly basis, without slip-ups, VCU will be a member of the club (at least the mid-major powerhouses i.e. Memphis and Gonzaga)

That would be a great club to be in! We'll get there...one win at a time!

The big thing these programs do night in and night out, is beat the teams they are supposed to beat. They don't have the typical VCU letdown game, or playing down to opponents levels. We need to be prepared and put these teams away early. Anthony Grant never liked to run up the score, I wonder what Shaka's view on this is.
