Not? That is the question. In a discussion with someone about wether or not we should play this and try to get the whole arena to sing... Thoughts or other song suggestions?

I would say not. That song is best when the majority of the room is drunk, and I'm not sure that's the case at the Stu.

Here's my challenge for the band.... some version of Slayer's "Raining Blood"...but basically just the slow/mid tempo stuff. In other words kinda like what Rick Rubin did to the song in Lil Jon's "Stop F***** wit me". That song is just SOOOO TOUGH. Gets me pumped at least.

I don't know about the sing along, but I do wish you would play what has become your signature number Requiem for a Tower a little longer. It seems to build and whip the crowd into a frenzy, which of course is your forte'.

I'm a Red Sox fan, but I have to say no. Why don't we find something that is "ours," or at least not obviously the Red Sox. It's kinda like Enter Sandman/VPI only worse.

I think I need to get the lyrics to what yall are singing now on the white board.

Other suggestions:
I wanna Rock and Roll All Night (and party every day!)
I will Survive (doesn't actually have a chorus, but the seen from The Replacements makes me laugh, and if the crowd sang the whole thing would be awesome)

No. I worked at a bar that did karaoke. This song makes me want to punch people in the face.

We need our own song and ID. Some songs are timeless and universal and that's ok, but the band should find a song that the stu will get behind and want to sing along with multiple times a game.
Ryan and the band is the best bar none.

My personal opinion is that anything done at a basketball game should be done with the intent to get the crowd into the GAME. This is why I don't like the "wave" during a game. It distracts from the game. People sit in their seats and watch the wave and not the game. Even if it is done during timeouts, the game restarts and the energy is zapped from the crowd. There is a finite amount of energy available, it should be spend on the GAME itself.

The same with any song that the band plays. If it is some gimmick song, some feel good crap that has nothing to do with getting the fans into the GAME, then why play it? Halftime, well fine. But for the two 20 minute periods when the clock is on, it should be game on. Including timeouts. Inspire the crowd to cheer their team on.

I think this is one of the problems with our friends in the West End. The RC staff has not figured out how to get their fans into the game. They have some polka song playing during timeouts and you feel like taking a nap instead of cheering a basketball game. And I see this a lot as I travel. Some places get the crowd into the game, some sort of forget that there is a basketball game going on.

Gotta go no on this one.

But I love that you guys are thinking of new stuff. to keep it fresh and fun!!

Shows how great you guys are.

Here's a hyped up DnB song that HEAVILY samples "requiem for a tower":

I used to have the 12" of this, but think my friend broke/warped/lost it. Lol, I think anyone over 35 would leave if they heard this song played. Would most likely scare the other team tho...

Was it Wake Forrest that played the same song over and over again? The repetition drove me nuts. We have the best band around. It plays a variety of music--but most of all, the bands gets the fans involved. I think Rick is right--choose a song that will continue to get the fans involved. Now, if can just charge 50 cents more per ticket and get rid of those darn games and advertising during time outs, our band can due their usual great renditions. GO RAMS!
