Any other skeptics on this board? Apparently this is the second Swine Flu scare, the first being in 1976 ( http://www.capitalcentury.com/1976.html )...that resulted in massive inoculations that made someone a ton of money, and caused more deaths than the flu itself. Maybe I'm just a conspiracy theorists...but something smells fishy to me.

Some numbers on the common flu...

Florida averaged 2,477 deaths per year from the flu and pneunomia between 2005 and 2007. Pinellas County averaged 150 deaths per year in that time period. Hillsborough County averaged 86 deaths.

The Centers for Disease Control estimates 36,000 people die annually in the United States from the flu.

Didn't see this much hysteria or news coverage during flu season...

I agree that the media may be blowing this out of proportion, however it is a little troubling that the swine flu appears to be killing otherwise healthy young adults; whereas the "normal" flu season fatalities can generally be attributed to infants, elderly and the otherwise immunodeficient.

Ask the kids at UD with it if they feel scammed

A MOMENT OF SILENCE PLEASE!

Kermit the Frog has died of Swine Flu.
His last words were "That f-ing pig told me she was clean."
