Team apparel in practice/travel?

Nope i think that's a pretty accurate assessment and one of the reasons attendance (most schools) is dwindling. Aside from loyal season ticket holders going isn't a must. If we're playing well and we flood the market with discounted tickets we have a sell out. 10 years ago we'd have standing room only in a game played during a blizzard.

I'm sorry, but I'm "old school" and I agree with Will on this one. Dress the part.

If it's practice, that's fine. You don't have to wear game shorts and jerseys, but there is plenty of VCU logo gym apparel to wear during practice.

It's sad, but in the era of NIL I see the players less and less as "kids," and more and more as professional athletes. My St. Louis Cardinals are not wearing just any old sweat clothes during pregame drills and batting practice. During Spring Training, they're wearing team gear.
In the old days, I'd probably give the "kids" a bye. Nowadays, I think they should be dressed like a professional athlete.

Because I think it's a fair point that could a team that doesn't dress a like or care enough to put on VCU gear to go to practice also be a team that has suspect defense or in close games struggles. Could it also be a team that comes out flat against Loyola. Could it be indicative of a team that struggles with details in clutch time. I remain convinced in my belief that the sum of the parts has not yet equaled the talent. I hope I'm eating my words in a month saying I'm silly.

Someone commented they can wear what's easy or feels good. That's a stupid analogy. I'd love to go to my desk job wearing my Nike sweatpants and a VCU hoodie but I can't. There are certain dress expectations for a job. I don't think dressing as a team for practice is a big ask.

I remember when I was on my high school basketball team how exicted the team was to dress up whether it be in suits or our wearing polos to school on gameday.

Is the post nitpcking or out of box maybe--but is it a troll or outlandish definitely not.

This is the most hilarious, asinine post I've seen in sometime.

Where was this post last year? you know when we were the best team in the A10? When we lost to teams like Seton Hall, Nevada, when we lost to Dayton at home on Senior day among other games that we might've started off flat? Where was this post last year? Or how bout the year before that under Odom's first year?

You act like this is the first year that some players wear warm up gear, some don't. Some players wear white shoes, some wear black shoes, some wear gold shoes, some wear other colors.... WHO THE F**K CARES?!?!

It has 0 affect on the game itself. ZERO, ZILCH, NADA, ZIP.

If there's chemistry issues.... it's not because of what you wear during warmups, or what you wear traveling from one place to another. And just dressing alike.... isn't going to all of a sudden cure any chemistry issues, or slow starts.... if you honestly believe that... you need a serious wake up call.

As far as Dress Expectations... Every "job" is different. Some jobs have a stricter dress code than others. And it changes from boss to boss, job to job. My current job.... my previous boss (before he left and got a better paying job).... had no real dress code. Obviously he didn't want us coming in wearing baggy clothes, or clothes with holes all over em, or come in wearing some offensive material or whatever..... but he didn't care if one day I came in wearing my VCU shirt & some sweatpants.... and guess what.... neither did his higher ups, nor did any of the other staff, or even the students or other people in the public that I interacted with on a daily basis.

Never had 1 complaint, and as a matter of fact I actually got several emails, phone calls from my boss & other faculty giving me compliments about my job performance & how students & other faculty went to them & told them how nice, and helpful I was with them.

ZERO COMPLAINTS ABOUT MY ATTIRE WHATSOEVER.

Now... my new boss is a little bit stricter.... and hey, if that's what she expects.... well I got 2 choices, follow her dress code, or go find a new job.

One of my previous jobs.... we all had uniforms we had to wear. Did it boost morale, or help the chemistry among co-workers? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Matter of fact there was more drama at that job.... and it had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with what any of us were wearing.

He had a booster that was known to provide improper benefits. I kind of remember Bobby Knight slamming Wooden for cheating.
A car dealership owner. Bill Walton famously joked that he took a pay cut when he got to the NBA. Not sure Wooden’s role but he at least purposely looked the other way.
