Mostly I've been hearin' that we're gonna play the Vols....or maybe we'll get 'Nova, so I thought we could get some chatter goin' about either team and our thoughts as to whom you'd prefer we play.

Obviously Villanova is the higher ranked team and is, as always, a guard driven group. Corey Fisher is definately the floor general and plays like the Bronx playground legend he is (105 points in a street game against semi-pros...http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/bro ... ecord.html)

The thing about 'Nova that would make them such a difficult opponent if their ability to NOT turnover the ball and their LOVE of jacking up and mostly making their 3's. Certainly not the biggest team we've seen, but easily the fastest and most cohesive. Not sayin' we'd definately lose....but we'd certainly be a stiffer test then Bucknell or Marist

as for the Vols....I think we could definately take them down. Quite the opposite of 'Nova....AWFUL 3 point shooting after 2 games (8 for 31) already has 38 turnovers :shock: , and pretty mediocre at the line. Not especially big and seemingly no "go to guy" at the point.

Bear in mind my main vocation is teaching elementary school music....but that's my laymans view of the two teams......I wanna play the Vols...if only to takem down and get to Nova.

I know a good amount of Tennessee fans in Richmond. Never been a fan of that choke artist school.

tennessee or villanova? i say neither.

tennessee could very well be without their starting point guard tonight. the have to play an experienced missouri state team, and quite frankly, this one has upset written all over it. i think missouri state wins this game.

Agreed. Missouri State is going to give them all they can handle. They return their top 7 scorers I believe from a 20-win team that won the CIT last season. While they may not win outright, the folks in Knoxville will probably be sweating at some point during that game.

Villanova should be a lock for MSG though.

Agreed. Tennessee has to get by Missouri State first and that's not gonna be a walk in the park..I can tell you that.
 
I love the UT fans underestimating the Rams. Such arrogance from the "majors". Good to see like one fan was realistic on that board. One said they could beat the Rams by 15 and press us all game. UT ain't exactly great at ball handling and they weren't impressive against Belmont. Maybe they should worry about Missouri St.
 
I hope those VOLS can pull it off tonight. I have been wanting this match up for a long time. My two teams matched up and going at it on national TV!

Im a diehard UT Vols (SEC) fan from the border of VA and TN but got all my degrees at VCU and have supported the Rams B.Ball program since the late 90s.

All i can say is i hope Bruce gets his boys to NYC so we can beat them at their own game.
