The 2025 Offseason Thread

(I laughed deviously, while making this.)

As, suddenly its PERFECT for our offseason tread.

I've seen a LOT of chat about changing conferences, for a LONG time, on this site. If we're due to move up, I kinda feel like you'd better walk the walk before you try to talk the talk. You'd better be walking in the door looking at least equal, if not superior to your new competition. If you;re gonna change conferences only to immediately assume the role of new resident bottom dweller, what use is it? If you look like a scrub, please don't even think about going to "that" club. VCU looks to be going through a necessary metamorphosis, and I've got this feeling big step two after building a heck of a roster is going to be wiping the floor with your competition, both OOC and IC. To do that, you need an overabundance of the right kinds of tools. We look to be preparing this program to do exactly that. I think I smell what's cooking.

I believe wholeheartedly that our team would have competed successfully with at LEAST 2/3 of the Big East last year, the loss to Seton Hall notwithstanding. Our final NET was higher than UConn's. We wouldn't have been a bottom feeder last season and I'd say that's the case for most seasons, as well. Our biggest problem as a program is having to replace good coaches every few years, which is something that would partly be solved with a transition to the Big East. Now, we just need to get them to WANT us to join the Big East. That's really the hard part.
