The 2025 Offseason Thread

I believe wholeheartedly that our team would have competed successfully with at LEAST 2/3 of the Big East last year, the loss to Seton Hall notwithstanding. Our final NET was higher than UConn's. We wouldn't have been a bottom feeder last season and I'd say that's the case for most seasons, as well. Our biggest problem as a program is having to replace good coaches every few years, which is something that would partly be solved with a transition to the Big East. Now, we just need to get them to WANT us to join the Big East. That's really the hard part.

FYI. The Big East has had their fair share of coaching changes lately. They are not immune to the coaching carousel.

Agreed, and I was thinking about that while I was typing. That's why I said "partly". It certainly wouldn't be completely solved with a move to the Big East because there are always larger fish out there unless you have blue blood money, but I feel like it would slow down VCU's coaching carousel a bit at least.

I would hope so, but keep in mind, every coach to leave VCU since Capel has gone to a P4 school. None of the coaches have left to go to the Big East.
