Grade: DIn their second season under Mike Rhoades, the Nittany Lions were 12-2 in their first 14 games, which included a 2-1 tally in Big Ten play with wins over Purdue and Northwestern. They were led by Ace Baldwin Jr. (14.0 PPG, 7.1 APG, 2.4 SPG), who won his second consecutive Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year award. But the rest of their season was a freefall as they went 4-13 over their last 17 games and failed to even qualify for the conference tournament.

Two years of failure. Imagine having the audacity to ask your AD to pay VCU half a million bucks because you are scared to go back to the school that gave you the opportunity to make 3+million per year. That AD is paying out some serious cash for a program that is a money drain.
