raising your eyebrow at the wofford rank?
we need to pack the Stu and give them heck...this is their big year and they'll be gunning for an upset.

That poll changed a lot in 5 days. I wonder if that is because of injury news.

Well they did go to the tourney last year and almost took down Wisconsin so I'm not sure technically it would be upset would it? However, we are at home so I guess one could argue that Wofford is going for upset a I guess.

i coonsider Wofford winning at the Stu an upset...I consider ODU or GMU or Duke winning at the Stu an upset...lol

Duke? Get REAL!!!! Winning the CBI is NOT equal to winning the NCAA! Who lost to JMU at home last year? You may have knocked Duke out in 2007, but Duke has lost 6 times in the first round of the NCAAs. Duke would get 1/4 of the Stinky Center filled with its fans if they were ever to play in Richmond. Duke again is ranked Number 1 in the nation by one poll and VCU isn't in the top 25.

I also think Wofford winning in the Christmas Tourney is very possible. I predict VCU will be 13-2 this year at home, ODU will be 14-1 at home this year. ODU has the 3rd longest winning streak at home, but that will end shortly against Georgetown.

Somebody can't understand a joke when they see one

Wow..it is posts like these that make me realize that I will relish the implosion of ODU basketball this season.
0-11 from the arc against a WEAK Va State squad (10 new players). Keep shooting and missing and your offensive boards will be the best in the nation. That is one stat that you have to take with a grain of salt.
ODU is 3 lucky three pointers away from the CBI last year. They better realize they rode the lucky breaks and had a good season. Hats off to them for that.
BUT, they are really going to miss Mr Softee. mark my words. We had a first year coach that is now a second year coach and he can recruit. JMU, GMU and VCU will hang losses on the softee-less butterflies
\Big freaking expectations in Norfolk....time for the talk to end and the games to start...odpu has a tendency to choke on hype...give them all the hype you can...i have a good feeling about this year

BTW JMU was a call or two from beating you guys your place last year

Oof, silly, silly Monarch.

That being said, can we stop trying "one-up" by saying that one "not even the NIT" championship is any better than the other "not even the NIT" championship. I mean, come on now, it was less than 2 years ago I was posting things like this:

Neither are really worth bragging about. Both were chances to keep practicing, keep getting better, and play games against decent competition.

Nobody ever said ODU could shoot. If we had an outside shooter, we'd be ranked in every poll. We wouldn't miss Gerald Lee all that much. Kent Bazemore is becoming a force in the paint and his shooting is getting much better. Between him and Carter, we'll be fine. Last year we were the 3rd best defense in the country. Offense wins you games, defense wins you championships. Who has more CAA championships and NCAA appearences?

And quit complaining about the calls. Calls go both ways. VCU won the Black and Blue in 2008 because of calls and I'm sure they have won other games because of officiating. And two years ago, in the 3rd meeting of ODU and JMU in the CBI we killed them. I think it was like 81 to 44.

MonarchMan,

I'm sorry, but, I dont think you are thinking this through before your typing. You guys are going to miss Gerald alot more than you think. He was drawing double and even a few triple teams in some instances which would create an opportunity for players to be open and be able to take uncontested shots. Without him there, your guys wont have the royalties of having ungaurded players. Gerald was the key to your guys team and I honestly don't feel like ODU will be able to handle not having a star on the team gaining double and triple teams. I'm not saying yall arent going to be top four, im just sayin that yall will struggle out of the gate without a doubt.

Just my two cents.
