Right now we have the best overall record in the CAA-I still think the CAA will get at least one at-large bid with the Pac-10 down so bad. We need to finish at least third and no worse than runner up in the tourney and we have a legitimate shot. Whe they pick an at large, OOC will count heavily.

It won't matter. We're winning the CAA tourney.

F*** an at-large. We need to just play February and see where we are THEN. Let's have this convo as we MARCH into the tourney..........

But, I agree, if we have a great February (no WHEN), we'll be in good position. Come on, Oklahoma, Nevada, Richmond, etc...........darn, we ONLY LOST ONE GAME OOC!

Even though the Pac-10 is down, the A-10 is up.

My brain says this VCU squad looks like an NIT team, but my heart says we'll go on a run and win the CAA tourney - - that's the only real shot at the dance.

the argument will come up that we dont have any quality road/neutral wins. Tulane is terrible... not playing in a tournament really hurts us this year...a puerto rico or other event with 3 non conference quality opponents would have significantly helped our RPI instead of playing Tulane and whoever else we filled the schedule with. ODU has a legit shot at an at large right now. their wins over Georgetown and charlotte on the road are 2 huge wins. we don't come close to that...beating OU and Nevada at home unfortunately doesn't hold a candle to those 2 road wins by ODU. they also played missouri and missy state in an early tournament. Mid majors only got 4 at large bids total last year...TOTAL ...down from 6 the year before. The WAC got 2 of those. I think the # will be a little higher this year because the A10 is doing well but I don't see any CAA team getting an at large bid except possibly ODU. We would have to run the table in order to have any chance at an at large bid. I don't see that happening. I hope i am wrong !

ODU non-conference RPI - 33
VCU non-conference RPI - 17

Wow, what's W&M's?

We have this conversation every year and every year the CAA gets ignored. I would be shocked if the selection committee even considered a CAA team.

It depends on who is in the final....ODU and VCU two are going. NU and VCU/ODU one is going. NU was 2-7 to start the season.

I'm not so sure about that.

Northeastern is projected to finish 19-10. No way they get an at-large bid with that record. I don't care if they lose in the CAA title, they still wouldn't. Just think about our team two years ago that was left out at 24-7.

I was commenting on the "ODU and VCU two are going" comment.
Do you really think that I was saying that NE is going to get an at large bid?
