It is official, we're the last CAA teaming playing. The best thing that we can do is keep on winning. I am excite about our future. It seems all of the pieces are coming together. It looks like we have a coach that will stay around for a while.

There are only so many teams out there. Not everyone ends their season with a W.

GO RAMS!
Beat Cougars!!

Actually, only four teams do that (except for teams in small conferences that stink so bad during the regular season they don't qualify for conference tournaments, or teams in the Ivy that don't win the conference outright).

If we can make that claim, we'll be in pretty exclusive company.

Been asleep these last fews? Just a reminder now that you are awake: VCU is in a :D tournament and is the last CAA team standing!

I am not sure we should be bragging about this "accomplishment". I'd rather win a game in the NCAA and lose in the 2nd round than win the entire CBI "tournament". It is what is is. No sense trying to act like it's more.

And I think Buckwheat meant we are playing, but hardly standing tall like those playing in real tournaments -- ones that pay the school instead of the school paying the tournament organizers.

Not saying we shouldn't support the Rams when they play. Of course we should. Let's just keep it in perspective.

I don't see anybody doing that... I just see folks happy to watch more VCU basketball

ODPoo played two post-season games before losing. We have played only one. Let's win tomorrow....against a team that HAS beaten us in the past....and currently has a pretty decent <100 rpi. Win two post season games and we are the last team standing. Lose tomorrow and we were only the last team standing by virtue of when the games were scheduled. Let's not get cocky until we accomplish something. Right now, ODPoos single win over the Irish has a bit more weight than our single win over GW.

And let's not forget we gave up something like 10-12 points of our 14 point lead in the second half against GW. I don't believe that is going to fly against Cremins and CoC.

no, odu was the last caa team standing. the whole "we're the only one's left!" attitude is what most of us made fun of odu fans for last season.

we're playing some practice basketball in a crappy tourney, not "left standing" over anyone.

I view this like any other OOC tournament. It's just played at the end of the season instead of the beginning. It doesn't prove anything. It's extra games/work. Of course, I view the season ending NIT the same way.

This is how I feel. It is a tourney, and we play to win, but the post season aspect of it doesn't really mean much. Everyone wants to be in the NCAA tourney, that is where all of the publicity and money is gained. If you don't make it then you play in what you can and win as many games as you can, but this in no way compares to ODU winning a game in the NCAA tourney. Yes, we are the last CAA team still playing though, so let's all come out tomorrow night and enjoy it.
