Players The Max Shulga Thread

Wasn’t speaking to your statement. There were others who were a little more pessimistic with regards to his chances. He is listed on quite a few mock draft boards as a 2nd rounder.

I guess we’ll see.
He is and time will tell. At this point it all depends on what a given team needs and how the assess player value. I hope he does get drafted

Max might be one of those guys whose game is better suited for the pros. You see it occasionally. For example Stephon Castle played better in his rookie year than he did for UConn. Obviously very different players but I’m just making a point.

Probably a top 5 Ram. Good luck to him although I don't follow players after they leave VCU anymore. Mainly bc the NBA is criminally uninteresting to me.

This is a very interesting opinion, shared by many.

Hardly anyone. even extremely sports-minded people, bring up the NBA to me in conversation, even during the playoffs. For example, I hear more about NHL Caps than NBA Wizards.

If true, why?

No one can question the brilliant athleticism of the NBA players. They are great and extremely entertaining.

Is it a racial thing? Maybe at one time, but not now. Big-time college hoops aren't much different from NBA in racial makeup.

Is it "they play no defense," a low-lying fruit comment I disagree with.

Too many threes? Nah.

Could be a resentment toward million-dollar contracts and lavish lifestyles.

If so, will college hoops lose momentum at the gate and in TV ratings as the players become rich in their late teens and early 20s?

Closer to home, I used to hear a lot about Gerald Henderson and Ed Sherod in their NBA endeavors.

Don't hear much at all these days about Rams in NBA, (Willians, Hyland) except on these boards .... and even that seems grudgingly.

Caruso is a prime example. As is TJ McConnell who started a Duquesne and then to Arizona. We had quite a few guys who dominated him back in the day. However, he has been a solid NBA guy.
