The first half the dragons just pushed the Rams around. heck even the beginning of the second half. However, the Rams had enough of being punked on their own court halfway through the second half. I'd say it was around the time Hinton shoved that one player halfway to the midcourt line. I saw many Ram fans clap because they saw the team was sick of being manhandled. Everything changed then from that point on. The team forgot about the refs and played aggressive back. You could see Drexel's players get uncomfortable when that happened. Good to see the Rams pull a win out against a good team even when foul calls are going against the them. This game could have ended up like northeastern two years ago when the rams got thrown off by 5 foul calls in 50 seconds.

"Havoc" turned into "Get offa me!"

Confidence (or lack thereof) is contagious. We need to catch it every game.

I sort of the thought the game changer was when I hit the 3 pointer to get my section FREE pizza!

Which was great until you RRR'ed the half court shot.

lol...i missed my first lay up too but don't tell anyone, hopefully the 5000+ didn't see that. I'll be honest, I love to ball but when you get out there you get a little nervous.

we were all hoping you would make the layup, slam the ball on the ground, flick the crowd off and walk out with your and only your free pizza

I thought the game changer was the full court traps. Seemed like we realized it would work, forced a few turnovers, and it all changed from there.

You know who the game changer was? Rob! There was a 3-4 minute stretch where he and Joey were out there after they spelled Darius and Ed I believe. He came in and things happened. Turnovers, rebounds. I love that we have this kid for 3 more seasons after this.

Our offense looked HORRIBLE in the first half. We were taking incredibly ill advised shots and trying to make things happen that weren't there. I realize that Drexel is a very good defensive team, but they made us look horrible in the first half. I think we need to let the 3's come to us and just try to beat guys of the dribble from the perimeter. Ed, Brandon, Brad and Rob can take it to the hoop with the best of them, they just don't often enough.

What Wyne said. The Rob Brandenburg offensive rebound and put back was the game changer.

Bingo.

People will forget about Rob because he didn't make those big threes like Joey and Brandon. But he was a big part of that group that turned it around for us (A group that consisted of Joey, Brandon, Brad, and Skeen..pretty much 4 of our top 5 guys if you include Ed, basically all starters and a freshman).

Watch the latest video from the 3:10 mark. You'll see him play some lock down D, and really hustle. Had that great tip in and even at the 4:07 mark watch him crash the boards on Rozzell's 3 (which Rozzell made). Just showed a ton of energy out there and really looked like a senior to me.

I'd have to give my game ball though probably to Rozzell. Just made huge plays down the stretch attacking the basket and hitting all the big shots.

Personally, I'd say our two MVPs were Brandon and Joey. If you were at the game, watched it on TV, watched the highlights, or read the writeup then you'd notice:

"VCU finally took its first lead since early in the game on Brandon Rozzell's 3-pointer with 8:28 left."

"VCU tied it on Rozzell's three-point play with 1:15 left."

"Rodriguez has struggled so much with his shooting that he has shied away from some shots. He didn't this time, taking a feed from Rozzell to the left of the key and drilling an open 3-pointer that put VCU ahead 47-46."

"Rodriguez made all four free throws. Skeen then went to the line for a one-and-one and made the first to put VCU ahead 52-46."

One more thing on Rob, I know most of us are in love with him and want to see him play more, but we also realize that he's a freshman and he still has a lot to learn. There was one particular play last night that jumps out at me, I believe it was after one of his steals during that stretch we are talking about. He stole the ball and brought it up court. With the ball you could just see the energy and the composure he had. He was handling the ball for several seconds before Joey came to the top of the key to get it from him. While a lot of guys on this team seem flat, Rob is full of energy and looks so composed out there. I know what I've mentioned is small, but I'm curious if that stood out to anyone else. I for one believe that it is no coincidence that things happen when Rob Brandenburg is on the floor.

Rob is fast even when he is standing still. I can't remember ever seeing someone get up and done the court or bring the ball up or just move without the ball as quick as he does. Rob, Juv, DJ, Reco, and Heath, we have such a bright future.

I watched the game on TV and I do not need write ups to recall all the key plays that happened. In my eyes I felt that the Rob offensive board and putback was a key play for us that helped turn momentum to our side.

Not a lot of love for the statistical player of the game, who was tied for the most points and steals with Brandon and tied for the most rebounds with Jaime.

Bradford also came off a screen, and drove to the hoop, which is something I mentioned I wanted to see from him, so I was happy about that too (not that he reads/gives a darn what I think, but it was good to see).
