My problem is that I love the VCU Rams too much. It becomes painful after every loss to the point where I become devastated. To me, every victory is so important to building VCU as a program and a University. We are so close and we can get there.
The next 10 games are all very winnable games. Our team lacks leadership, focus, and consistency.

1) Shaka Smart's job is to focus our team. Our goal should be to win and our team should have that focus of winning when they step out on the court
2) Joey needs to step into the Leadership role. I have been asking for this ever since last year. Last year, we lost many close games late. This year we get behind too quickly. This is where a Leader steps up and makes sure the team continues to play hard 40 minutes a game. Joey has every characteristic of a leader and most importantly he has the heart and the desire to win.
3) With leadership and focus we will become consistent. When we are consistent, we are unstoppable.

I want to see the Rams 16-3 (7-0) when we go to Norfolk.
Our goal should be to win the next 10 games.
Take it one game at a time though.
Look ahead and we will slip up. Focus on each game, win each game, and be relentless.

Of these 10, I'm worried about UAB the most. Hopefully the team will get over their shooting slump by then.

I'm more worried about GSU, but that's just me.

willing to make a wager on which team does better? :D :D :D

@ UAB will likely be the "cherry" on top of our at-large resume sundae, should it come to that.

With the way we've played the last few games and the nagging injuries we seem to have now 6-4 is what I am expecting. I'd be very happy with 7-3 or better. Either way the only path for us to the NCAAs is winning the tourney in March - - everything this teams does not should be geared toward that goal now.

Wofford and then Cornell are much tougher than any of you realize....

I watched the Cornell/Minnesota game on TV. Cornell gave Minnesota everything they could handle, plus some. The Gophers had to pull it out at the end and they are a ranked team and the game was played at Minnesota. I agree VCU4LIFE. Neither one of these games should be overlooked. If we beat Wofford, we will have our hands full with Cornell. Let's also not forget who coaches Cornell. It's Bill Courtney, who used to be at Mason. You know Larranaga is going to give him plenty of information on this team.

heck he coached here too, just not for quite as long as he was at Mason.

Courtney did, yes....for what, a week? I believe he was hired by Grant when he first took over, and then left to take a head coaching job somewhere, can someone that remembers this specifically fill in the blanks?

He was hired by Smart actually. Then left after a month or two to go to Tech where he stayed for a year and then left for his current head coaching job. He was replaced by Mike Jones.
