Devils advocate- I mean if we’re going by Quadrant we’ve beaten lots of crappy teams, beat some subpar to good teams, and didn’t beat any really great teams. We can’t pretend playing NC state and USU is the same level as playing Loyola and Bonnie’s. We can keep saying 17-6 but the 6 includes losing to the toughest teams we played.

I'll be wearing my black VCU sweater and my vcuarts hat. I don't do white-outs (white is the color of surrender) and I don't do gold-outs. Black is the only color.
Of course they are going to say that so people rush and buy tickets. Play around with the seating chart when you go to the VCU site to play tickets. Full Rows in multiple sections

Some of those full rows are right next to the concourse, and in any event they're not in particularly great sections. Nearly all of the better seats are spoken for.
Agree they are not great seats available no doubt. Agree 100%. But for a game like Dayton any seat in the house is better than not being there.

I would REALLY like to at least get to that second seed, to stay away from SLU until the title game.
Hey -- maybe if we can tie SLU for regular season title, the school will buy our guys championship rings!

Of course I'd love the 1 seed, but that is probably unlikely. So..... VCU should be playing for the 2/3 side of the bracket. Win the games we are supposed to and beat Mason and there's a good chance we are the 2. We're probably splitting hairs over which seed is better between 2 and 3 given that the difficulty of the quarterfinal game will most likely be matchup dependent.

Definitely a case of moving the goal posts. It hasn't always been pretty but they have come through more often than not. Most would have been pleased if you told them at the beginning of the season that we would be 17-6 at this point. We haven't set the world on fire but we haven't stunk it up either. We are still in a position to accomplish all of our goals for the season entering February.

If you look at the numbers we certainly have. If you go by vibes to confirm your bias then perhaps not. Look at Dayton's last 5 games. If any 1 of those would have happened to us all of the bitchywhiny people on this board would be throwing a non stop fit. The VA Tech win was better, The USF win was better, the Rhode Island win was better, the Davidson win was better.
