I guess if we have to play a Division II team, we might as well beat them! It's Black (& Gold) Friday!

A few thoughts ....

Feel sorry for the Vikings ... Rams could hit triple digits with eight minutes to go. Promise- the threes will be falling.

Does a win over a weak D-2 lower a schools' NET rating?

Has VCU ever had a better player, based on pro success, than ECSU's Mike Gale?

Elizabeth City is among the last original CIAA schools for VCU to play, following Virginia Union, Virginia State, Hampton, Norfolk State, Delaware State, Maryland-Eastern Shore, Howard, North Carolina A&T, South Carolina State ... never faced Liz City, JC Smith, Winston Salem ....

Final note: VCU never played now defunct St. Paul's in hoops .... but did on the gridiron, the only NCAA school the long ago VCU club competed against in football ... Rams lost so famous T-shirt is wrong.

Games against non-D1 opponents do not affect NET, win or lose. But the selection committee will take notice of a loss, even though they're technically not supposed to.
I appreciate you sharing this for anyone else who might've been wondering, but nothing that guy has to say about anything after 1990 is done in good faith. Sadly, he's best ignored.

I love Friday Night Feature Games. And I love when their school doesn't have a stupid nickname.

GO RAMS!

We need the week to work on our game. Now we see where we are at, we know where we have to go. Personally, I think we need to work on going inside to our post guys. We have to have some type of offensive point getting post game other than driving to the basket. We have a week and a half to get something in place and practiced before our next D1 opponent.
Honestly, we are not that far from being a very good team. But we need to develop some type of post game to open the floor and to take pressure off of the "live by the 3, die by the 3" scheme.

I have 2 if anyone is looking. PM me

According to vcu athletics site, game is at 7pm. I read this to her and Kat set me straight.
Bring on the noise, make my Turkey time complete. GobbelGobble them vikings.
I can see the juicy viking terkey drippings from the driveway.

I’m pretty sure I speak for a lot of people when I say I probably would be skipping this game if not for Joey going into the rafters.
I think maybe that's the plan. Joey is the attraction for this one. Hopefully it will be a fun game where we win easily and work on some of our weaknesses too.

I remember when I was at VCU I walked over to VUU to see them play Elizabeth City. It was a wild game at Barco Stevens. The fans spilled out on the floor after the game and it got wild.

Whenever I drive to the Outer Banks I always wonder which beach the students decide to go to. Nags Head or Va Beach.

Curious about what season you went to Barco-Stevens - Mike Davis, Keith Valentine, Charles Oakley, AJ English Eras? ... never saw you there. And never, ever. have I seen an HBCU crowd "rush the floor." So totally nerdy.

And why would VUU rush the floor over a win over Elizabeth City when the hometown Panthers were almost surely the favorites?

Also, you may know more than me, but I doubt Elizabeth City students are big beach hounds.

I loved Virginia Beach growing up as a teen when I was living in or near Richmond. Always stopped at Busch Gardens for our two free beers.
Get sunburned and ot an iron-on transfer of my favorite band logos on a printed t-shirt.

It was 1984. Nobody rushed the court. The fans were yelling at each other.
