Only thing I can strongly from experience suggest to any singer is your body is your temple, protect it, don;t abuse it, don't ask but TELL any guitarists whom she plays with, no matter how good they might be or think they are, to keep their volume turned down or she's out of there, it's not a competition with the lead singer for volume/relevance, TELL any drummer she performs with to lay OFF the cymbals- they're not intended to be used as a musical comfort food, whatever band she's performing with unless you;re at the club don't play so loud like you are at the club (straight from Felipe Rose of The Village People, TY Felipe), and get yourself a nice strong PA for yourself and know where that volume slider/knob is. Protect those vocal cords.
Every time I see Sophia Nadder I get a nice reminder that I'm getting old. Seriously, I remember when she first started singing the anthem at VCU games. She's come a long, long way and I'm happy for her.

You might consider being a pinch nicer about anything that may concern King Bacote, arguably the nation's premier player for his age group.

King is on the VCU recruiting radar. Odom should be fired if he wasn't. It is a credit to you that you'd attend his games to let him know how cool VCU fans are. Rams' loyalists have many times gone to watch and cheer prep prospects, adorned in school colors.

For those who might be curious, King's Manchester Middle team plays on Tuesdays and Thursdays, usually about 3:30 in the afternoon. Season runs through early February.

The rec-league games start Jan. 2 with 6:30/7:30 twin bills.

If VCU was to land King, he would be the No. 1 signing, by far, in school annals.

Just think, on signing say, a reporter might ask, "Well, King, why did you pick VCU?"

Response: "Easy answer ... It goes back to the American Family Fitness rec-league .... a nice man named "Chill," whose face was painted black and gold, approached me, shook my hand, and the rest is history."
Not saying King is going to disappoint, but top rated in middle school does not always pan out.

Recall Terry Long of Hermitage High School from the early 80’s? He was supposedly the top 8th grade prospect in the country prior to his time as a Panther. While he went on to play and start some at Maryland with Lefty Driesell as coach, he was never more than an average ACC player. Unfortunately for Terry, he is probably most remembered for his part in the attempted cover up of the Len Bias overdose.

Jerome Kersey? As for Lonnie, scored 1,452 points between 82 and 86, was twice All-Mason-Dixon Conference and played one season professionally in Ireland. Also, he was twice age group champion of the National Firefighter Challenge.
Lonnie really lit it up at Longwood. I believe he was their all-time leader in career points for a while. He and Kersey made them a dangerous D-2 team. They just didn’t have the supporting cast to make any real noise on the national level.

I hate say it.

This new financial model for maintaining a competitive VCU Athletics is not viable over the long term.

But maybe it's time for VCU to think about dropping down to D2 or D3, stop paying for NiL, and fielding to teams with athletes content with receiving just the 4 year scholarship.

I'm already watching High school sports full time..so it doesn't really bother me.

For me, the most entertaining drama all year wasn't the NCAA or A10 tourney and even the Yankees winning the pennant....it was the season long saga of the Hayfield Secondary school football recruitment scandal that played out up here in Fairfax County!😅

When it comes to youth sport’s association administrations, if you ain’t cheating, you ain’t trying. Boards members are useful idiots designed to be replaced.

Yes, and as a senior, Lonnie was second in nation in free-throw percentage, 80-for-90. He was part of a loosely organized freshman team his first year in Farmville and played a total of only 102 varsity games.

Nice recall about Terry but, please, let's leave Len Bias' death out of the discussion.

Long's statistics at Hermitage, under coach Joe Baker, were fairly modest, but he had an NBA body at a very young age.

The younger brother of 6-10 UNC legend Armondo Bacote, King has just recently hit a growth spurt, to about 6-3. I'd project him at about 6-6 as a high school senior. He has grown up, as a You-Tube sensation, as nothing more than average height and has pure guard skills.
