Our destiny is firmly within our hands! Now let's go smash some little statue thingies! It's gonna be a long week...

TV: ESPN2, Friday, February 16th at 7:00pm

Radio: 910 AM / 105.1 FM / VCU Athletics app

History: VCU is 15-5 all-time against Saint Louis.

Last Meeting: VCU defeated Saint Louis 80-61 in the Siegel Center on January 19, 2024.

When I re-think about Saint Louis their soon to be former head coach Travis Ford and his 2-7 record against VCU comes to mind. In addition to only earning one NCAA appearance in eight years and zero tournament wins, when he gets fired in March, Ford will join the unemployment line having never experiencing a victory against at the Siegel Center.

Ford's forgettable tenure at Saint Louis is a stark contrast to the great Rick Majerus won brought the program to prominence after an 11 year NCAA drought prior to his untimely passing in Dec. 2012. His former assistant Jim Crews took over the program and took advantage of the foundation Majerus established and the two coaches led Saint Louis to an impressive three year NCAA tournament run between 2011-2014.

Majerus previously faced off against VCU decades before coaching Saint Louis when he brought his Marquette Warriors to the Richmond Coliseum in 1986. The Ram defeated Marquette 61-56 with center Alvin Robinson posting a double-double scoring 13 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.

Really shows just how good of a coach Majerus was that he was able to build a team that got top 5 seeds in the tourney back to back with Jim Crews coaching it

Looking for Belles steady improvement against the Billikins and Shulga to get his hot hand back along with Fermin making those bunnies and getting more than one rebound. Stay steady Baze, Nelson, Jackson ,Sean , Tobi and Kuanny.

From the grimace on Max's face when he got whacked on his injured shoulder, looks like we could use a week off. Sean too.
Hope he's Ok but Tobi was also what looked like limping a bit after coming down hard under Holmes. Right ankle I think,
