The Official Beat the Saint Louis Billikens in Missouri Thread

Mild enough to merit articles on ESPN.com and CBSSports.com.
Oh it definitely got a ton of press. I have had several people mention it to me that I know aren't following VCU Basketball news. I just meant mild as far as injuries or even punches thrown. It was more of a scuffle than a brawl. Whoever was involved should have made better choices but in most arenas it would have been broken up in 30 seconds and no one would have ever known about it.

One option would be to alert security of the situation before getting to a point of escalation. Then they would have at least have time to deploy the red and green signs.

Who knows, I could get into a brawl tomorrow. I'm good as long as I come out on top.
On top of a stretcher.

We won a game vs Oregon State in the tournament when WW was head coach as a 10 seed. Lost to #2 seed Oklahoma in OKC by 4 points in the 2nd round. If Doug Brooks had kept his mouth shut we probably would have been in the Sweet 16. That's our last NCAA win.
Yep. That’s the “Never talk smack to a first round pick” lesson, right?

One of the Pro NIL arguments is the players are receiving "life changing money" to support families.

All these transfers including Phil are professional athletes with sports agents who negotiated six figure contracts to play for VCU and support their immediate family members.

If I am Ed Mcglaughlin..I would insert a "Good Behavior" clause within these contracts which allows VCU to withhold NIL funds or fine when players, their family members or accompanying guests attend games and participate in this type of behavior.
Glad you arent Ed. SMDH.

You do know that no one would sign such a clause. Or not any reasonable athlete. How can they control the behaviors of others. Ed already has the tools to combat bad behavior on the part of family, and fans. He can simply ban them from future games in SC.

That kid was a top 2 pick Deangelo Russell. Tre looked good, Larrier looked good, so did Melvin and JeQuan but man Russell looked like a man against boys.

I dont blame Doug Brooks. I do blame refereeing as tre was tackled just past half court

That dude wasn’t losing in OK City. His mom was about to have a Heart attack and started walking up and down the stairs like she was gonna pass out. The cameras panned to her every second.

That was the year before. They were talking about Oklahoma and Buddy Hield in 2016.

Thanks. That was a heck of a game.

I think it was the Gilmore coming out party. He didnt miss a shot and had a spurt where he was teh offense. 12-8 reds. 4-4,2-2, 2-2 as they were shooting over his head.

Melvin and JeQuan did their best to match Buddy but Buddy was not to be denied. He hit big shot after big shot.
Both Hamdy and Billbury had really awful games.

It was a great game and great game experience. OK City was a dull place.
