Odom's pressers are always interesting. No fluff, just straight up facts.

I agree, Odom's pressers actually have useful information in them. Mike was the worst.

Odom has given tidbits that materialized later and makes them worth the watch. Last year he talked about how he enjoys getting freshmen in and helping them grow over 4 years, but understood the value of the portal. He then brought in a stud freshmen class to build for the future.

He talked about what Fatts needs to do to off the court to be the player he wants to be on the court. Thought it was telling that Fatts was last off the bench in the exhibition.

I wish we would stop asking coaches about the next opponent though. What are they supposed to say? "Bellermine is dogsh*t and we are going to beat them down so hard they will have to reach up to tie their shoes." I could do without the platitudes about how they are good, and do it the right way, etc.

He seems so measured and well respected by the guys. Glad to have him while we do.

I actually thought his comments about the unique way Bellermine plays were interesting and more than the usual drivel.

I definitely like that the coaching staff does their due diligence when it comes to scouting opponents. It's just a matter of executing on game day (and attrition can get in the way of that like it did early last season). It's reminiscent of how Wade would deeply analyze and scout opponents, but Odom is more than just X's and O's and seems to have a better hand on intangibles.

Temper your expectations. He's a lot better than Mikey. That's not much of a bar.
