I'd almost bet he found a family issue that he could use. It doesn't take much to get one when family is involved. SEE: Philip Simms at uvwho. How was he able to get a transfer waiver?
The NCAA read the Free reco thread and determined he had a viable hardship based onthe postings of Swifty ClownHow was he able to get a transfer waiver?
Man, in hindsight how over-hyped was I about Reco? Talk about a swing and a miss.

He's such a nice guy though, I hope he has a decent career there and gets a great education. He deserves to be successful in life. He has a great attitude.
...but he sure as heck isn't the basketball player he looked like he was going to be coming out of high school.
The Mountaineers lost backup point guard G.J. Vilarino, who left the program for personal reasons, returned home and isn't playing anywhere this season, Capel said.
Reco was almost as hyped as GJ Vilarino....remember that guy from the Joey to Rollins soap opera of horribleness????

I'll second that and say that despite the frenetic helter skelter style we appear to play, it takes a great deal of discipline to play in Shaka's system.I like Reco, and I hope he has a great career down there in Bouie's Creek. Good kid. He just doesn't seem to have a real big "basketball I-Q." Too much going on for him in a scheme like we employ. He wants to run, jump, shoot the 3, etc. But more free-style, and not in a complicated system. That's what it looks like. I saw him play in probably 2 games on TV, earlier in the year, and the guy looked GOOD! But then, later in the year, he has games where you just scratch your head. Hopefully now, he gets consistency.
