The Official Smash the Richmond Spiders in the Stu Thread

Update on RVa, Richmond fans and all, that whole area has been experiencing mass power outages anywhere from west of carytown, river road, over to glen allen. Several fellow fans have had no power, streetlights out too, cops cars everywhere parked at intersections with no one in them. That was one heck of an ice storm and the area got hit hard.

I went home for lunch and my power finally jumped back on. Having gas fireplace logs installed in both of my fireplaces was one of the best things I ever did for my house. We have lost power twice over the last two months for over 24 hours each time and those gas logs warm up the entire house when running at the same time.

The amount of posts I've seen in various sections of the west end/further, it's not difficult to paint a map of the area. It amazes me how vast the outage area was (is?), especially for a 3-6" supposed "snowstorm"- we got hit with less than 2" and an ice storm, more ice than the local meteorologists and NWS anticipated. Metro area got far less than what you all got no doubt about it, thankfully. Sorry for you all. Today I've been chopping up branches and cleaning up around here all day, magnolias flex but will break if pushed too far. The ice trashed a lot of things and made for a REAL issue cleaning up Kitty Disneyland (which is what it's come around here). The more I've added, which has been a lot, the harder it's become to keep it all from rotting from ice, even with everything painted so well. This is far more than the effects of even what would come with a snowstorm. The problems behind ice are quite difficult to be summed up.

And people wonder why I curse winter weather. F this mess.
