The Rich get richer and the poor get poorer

Pav - St. Louis is going to the MVC if they can beg their way in...

Why Northeastern.??..that darn arena up there sucks...they don't care about basketball. Other than when we beat them in the NCAA's they have never done anything in basketball at all. Keep the travel costs down and forget about the huskies...let them go to the America East where they belong !

I think one of the biggest problems with the CAA is how regional it is. The CAA is thought of as a Virginia conference, and rightfully so. It's time we get away from that otherwise it'll be hard to get out from under the umbrella we're already under.

You're right, but who would you add/take away? Give me some prime examples Hoe.

I'd have to think about that, but citing travel costs as a reason to keep a team out of a conference is ridiculous. If you want to play in the big boy's room you're going to have to throw all your chips in.

Agree with this, playing NU is just another chance to play a good team and help expand the VCU brand into the Boston market. If anything NU needs to stay they have been one of the better performers in the CAA over the past years.

unless temple goes Big East like Nova did i dont see the other philly schools going away from the school that really brings in the revenue. I have a somewhat similar list but it might be too big with 14.

VA/DC
VCU, Richmond, ODU, GMU, GW

PA
Temple, St. Joes, Drexel, Lasalle

OH
Dayton and Xavier

NorthEast/NE
UMASS, RI, Northeastern

This could change as people said with football programs and the like, but it has natural rivalries and pretty good regional balance. decent public private as well with 8 private, 6 public.

if the Big east adds any more teams they may tell the NCAA to kiss their you know what...heck the BE, ACC and Big 10 should just form their own version of the NCAA...oh wait why bother they already run the joint...sorry
Seriously, Temple to the BE? How big should a conference get?
I say simply cap the max number of teams from an individual conference that can make the dance at 5 or 6 or maybe no more than 40% of the league..you know so when the BE has 25 teams....

According to brosephs there has actually been a good bit of chatter regarding Temple going to the MAC because of football.
