Calm down guys, we've lost a total of 2 games after starting one and three. It's a loss on the road to a decent team. We still are in the hunt for the 3 and 4 seed.

heck freezes over continued... I agree with NickGeorge21VCU ;)

realistically, I think we do not finish in the top 4. Look at our remaining schedule and the others, especially drexel. I'm concerned about JMU in H'burg at this point.

Exactly. We didn't come out strong in the 2nd half and some very questionable calls early in the 2nd really changed the pace for us. I don't put the blame on coaching or our team (except for a few moments).

On a side note, who were the 2 other refs? I know Mike Eades but the 2 old guys I have never seen before? Senior night for refs?

Knee-jerk reaction. Tough loss, yes. Winnable game, yes, but we need to move on. We have JMU on Saturday. We just have to take what we learned and move forward.

Remember: last year we lost at Delaware, at East Carolina and at UNCW and we still got into the dance with a respectable seed for a mid-major, and almost upset UCLA. What's to say we can't do that now out of the 4-spot in the CAA? If we can take care of our business against Drexel, we will erase any position loss from this game, and still stay in the 4-spot in the tournament.

Heads up, folks.

the recipe for this loss has many ingredients, and it tastes like $h!t... Coach isn't the only chef

Technically, we are in the hunt...but realistically, I'm not so sure about that...

Mason - they have the tie breaker over us...
@ ODU - L
W&M - W
@ Del - W
NE - L

That would leave them at 13-5 (I don't see them losing to both W&M and NE)

Drexel -
@ Hof - W
DEL - W
@ VCU - L
UNCW - W
@ JMU - W?

(13-5, maybe 12-6)

VCU

@ JMU - W?
DREX - W?
JMU - W
@ ODU - L

(I think we'll finish 12-6 at best)

Anyway, I think tonight's game was a must win...and we didn't. AS POed as I am right now I want to be hopeful, but unless we win out I think we've pretty much locked up the 5th seed.

My belief as well unfortunately. This was huge from a tiebreak standpoint. Here is hoping GMU goes back into another losing streak.

I'm just sick of the feeling that nearly every time we're on national tv we look like a joke. That second half display made my Jets 2nd half performance in the AFC championship game look stellar.

Who cares about what seed we get? Our team is quite deep, and if we have to play on Friday I still don't sweat it. We will be fine.

It wasn't so much that we lost, but how we lost.
We were on fire in the first half. I would have bet anyone that we would win.
Then to have them tie it with two FT's and 4 seconds on the clock?
Soo painful.

All we had to do was play a clean game with about 30 seconds left and a 3 point lead.

Tough loss, especially since we led basically the entire game. Gotta give kudos to Coach L who completely out-coached Shaka in the second half. Our guys shot horribly from free throw land, our offense really stagnated in the second as well with literally Joey as the only guy making anything happen. It was tough to watch. Kudos to Mason doing what they needed to do to win. I wasn't really impressed with any of their players but they gutted it out and won, and at the end of the day that's all that counts.

Larry once again cost this team on several occasions with bone-headed play and SOFT defense. I love him but it did hurt us today. Two different VCU teams in each half, unfortunately we showed up in the wrong one.

Game MVP Joey Rodriguez all the way. The heart and soul of this team. No question.

So, we chat on gtalk and you take all of my points and make a post using them? ;)

Ready for a dose of reality? This team has now lost FOUR games this yr in which we blew a 10-15 point deficit.

Sure we blew a fifteen point lead, but we went ice cold and they couldn't miss. It was at Mason. They got several key calls. Joey went from one of the worst players on this team to one of the best. Things have changed since the beginning of the year.
