Larry was scheduled to work out with the Memphis Grizzlies and pulled out (as a number of other first-rounders have done with Memphis) late yesterday, letting the Memphis staff know he wouldn't be coming in. There is some interesting speculation from the Memphis Edge (a blog that is part of the Memphis Commerical Appeal) that Larry cancelled because he believes he can go to 1 or 2 teams ahead of Memphis at 12 and that he may have a promise from Milwaukee at 15. This is pretty surprising to me as I had him pegged as a early to mid 20's pick. It would certainly be nice if this were true. I'm not sure if there is any truth to it as Larry also worked out for the Portland TrailBlazers today after missing the workout due to a cancelled flight the day before. It might be simply that he wanted to workout for the Blazers and will reschedule with the Grizzlies. Nonetheless here's a snippet from the article.

Another day. Another NBA draft prospect pulls out of a Memphis workout.
The Griz held a session this morning featuring forwards but Virginia Commonwealth's Larry Sanders was the latest candidate for the 12th pick to pull out.
Sanders, 6-10, is a long, athletic player with very good rebounding ability. He also finishes strong around the rim despite a lack of post moves. Sanders' basketball IQ is high, which makes him a good passer.
That's why the Griz are interested. So why did Sanders inform the Griz late Tuesday that he wouldn't attend their workout?
Word on the street is that Sanders strongly believes that he has a chance to go to one or two teams ahead of Memphis. Reportedly, Sanders is convinced that he'll go no later than 15 to Milwaukee. In fact, he might have a promise from Milwaukee.
