Tim Welsh

He had a very impressive couple of years at Iona in the MAAC that Siena is very familiar with. They are probably hoping he can replicate his results in the MAAC at Siena and are hoping that his Providence record was due to an inability to compete in the Big East. Siena is a big fish in a small pond in the MAAC. They get the conference tournament on their home floor, they have a bigger budget for basketball than anyone else in the MAAC, average 7,500 a game (which would be tops in the CAA fwiw)...they probably expect that Welsh would be able to replicate his results from his stint at Iona, especially with the advantages Siena has.

Wow the first time I bring information to the CAA board and I still mess up hahaha, sorry I thought it was breaking news, should've definently checked first. To my credit though I looked for the Hofstra thread on the main board hahaha

no biggie :) , I just get to play the roll of bad-cop, but it certainly isn't personal... it's just a good habit to look around the whole site and think about which of the 4 boards makes the most sense for the topic... but in spite of my seemingly strict attitude, I actually think it's better to err on the side of putting the info out there rather than stifle it... stuff can always be cleaned up later if need-be.

Nothing personal, someone's gotta say it haha. Like I said I'll definently start looking around, maybe even using the convenient search bar at the top.

To DB, I sure hope he can recreate some Mid-Major magic and keep Hofstra where it is at or even bring it to a higher level. It'd be sad to see another CAA program go to obscurity like UNC Wilmington did. The CAA seems like a better place for him to succeed as well because he won't have a Siena type team dominating the confrence. I think this would be a great hire for them as they would be getting someone proven at the mid-major level and someone who I think recruits would respect and listen to.
